This is a quaint place to stop for a pint and a bite to eat. Right in the middle of it all on the main drag in Gananoque, easy to find and easy to access. Often features live music. Fish and chips are great...and for a Maritimer to say that, it must be true!

Located in downtown Gananoque this little pub is a real gem. The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is truly English. We were there on a Friday night so the place was quite busy with locals enjoying a pint and a meal after a hard week at work. The place was filled with laughter and chatter just like in Merry... We visited this pub on a recent visit to Gananoque. We ordered a beer and a red wine. Service was fine and staff were attentive. Only down side was the number of flies flying about.

We decided to go to the Old English Pub because I was craving steak and kidney pie. And, I have to say, it was one of the best I've had in Canada. Unfortunately, the shepherds pie my family member ordered was a bit of a disappointment. Too much potato and not enough lamb. Everything else was good pub grub. I... More

Ate here twice last summer while vacationing in the area. First night would have been a 4 out of 5. Enjoyed it enough to return a second night and would have given it a 2. This summer gave it a go and was not impressed. Okay for Pub food but nothing our of the ordinary. Hard to say why but... More

Place is just OK, bar type food at pretty good prices. Had the spinach salad that wasn't all that great..no mushrooms, egg or tomatoes. Fish and chips looked great though.

All four of us at the table ordered the fish and chips and it was incredible!! We even tried the poutine and it was a hit as well. Great beer selection and my wine was very good. The service was great. Not sure why there are any negative reviews about this place.... You need to try it!

Visited the pub with the family while visiting Canada. The place was upbeat, the food was great, and the service was excellent. They have a nice selection of beer too. This will become a regular stop whenever we're in the area.

Thank John S
