Met with family but I was hugely disappointed with the service and the food! Took ages for our order to be taken and I even had to ask for milk to go with the tea!!! The sandwiches were lovely but the cake and scones were...More

Having read all of the reviews, I was excited to book the Tollgate for my wife’s birthday. I called 3 weeks in advance, booked in for four adults, a four year old and a baby. I called ahead an hour before arrival to ensure all...More

It's a lovely building and masks the traffic noise really well, despite being right on the A46. The welcome was warm and our reserved table was suitable. However, whilst the food was okay it certainly didn't live up to expectations given the reviews on here...More

Stopped here Sunday 12th August. It took 25 minutes for somebody to take our order and after a further 20 minutes no sign of our order. The order simply consisted of 1 banana milk shake and 1 cappuccino. After 45 minutes we cancelled and went...More

A very convenient place to stop if travelling as it is right on the A46 and has a car park. There was a good choice of food and a particularly appetising array of cakes. The interior decor had seen better days but there were plenty...More

Was excited to visit having driven past countless times, however I wish I hadn’t bothered. After waiting 20 minutes to have our order taken, we got up & found someone who begrudgingly took our order. After another 20 minutes we again got up & politely...More

We have been stopping at this cafe on our trips to Bath for many years. The owners have recently let out the business to other people with disastrous results. Although part of the adjacent wood has been flattened to make a car park and an...More

I visited yesterday with my partner, friend and 3 children for my partners 40th birthday treat. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, maybe half a dozen tables filled, yet service took forever!! I seriously though that I had aged during the wait. It took an hour...More

Cute little place tucked away. Just came across it driving past whilst looking for a cafe for breakfast. Service was good as was the food and price was reasonable. Only thing they need to address is the toilet situated outside. Very dirty, scruffy and is...More

Situated on the A46, three miles south of junction 18 on the M4, and six miles north of Bath, Tollgate Teashop is in an elevated position with panoramic views across Bristol, the Severn and to the Welsh Hills. The listed building was an old Turnpike.Tollgate Teashop is a traditional style cafe/restaurant. Customers can choose to sit in the cosy teashop with its wood burning stove, or in the Victorian conservatory with its stunning scenery. In the summer months we also have tables in both the front and rear gardens. We serve traditional food such as full English breakfast, soup, pies and cream teas. All of our food is made on the premises from locally sourced ingredients.
