If one is travelling in the South of France there is a restaurant that is a must , l ' Oustau de Baumaniere, in the majestic and haunting village of Les Baux de Provence. I do not much like the term magical, but this place deserves the adjective. The cuisine has been the very top of Provencal tradition and invention... More

We were staying at Baumanière and booked the restaurant for my 60th birthday and it was truly wonderful. We chose the tasting menu and each dish was delicious as was the wine. The attention to detail was exceptional from the moment we arrived. Desert came with a beautiful chocolate birthday treat and candle and chef Glenn even took us into... More

The magic of this restaurant is not only holding to his history - which is dating back to the 1940's and the legendary Raymond Thuillier - but as well to its improbable location, tuck away from the medieval village of Les Baux, and its architecture -a typical provencal "Mas". The "Canon d'agneau en Croute" (Lamb shank in its crust) is... More

A couple fo times a year, L'Ousteau throws open its kitchen doors for a semi formal buffet/ luncheon. All starters, and there are many and varied wonders from the kitchen, are served on a buffet as are the cheeses and desserts. But the main courses, also rich and varied, are served by the cuisine staff in the kitchen. The staff... More

I booked this for my birthday. The food was absolutely mind blowing. Excellent service, and actually the best we had in France. We went for lunch thinking it would be less expensive, which it probably is, but please know that this place is very expensive, even at lunch. However, it is such a wonderful, unique experience that I would spend... More

My husband had booked this for us for my birthday this year, when we were in Provence. The restaurant's setting, food and attention to detail are superb. It was also a surprise for me, which added to my enchantment with the place. I was further impressed as they do a tasting menu for vegetarians which is rare in France. I... More

The ** Michelin rating is very polite; enjoyable but too expensive for what it is. Very enjoyable atmosphere.
