Soup and bread

You can't go wrong with The Cottage for lunch. Their breads and soups are home made. There is a daily soup special, as well borscht. You serve the soup yourself. It does not get any better for local good value food. I challenge anyone to get through their burger with homemade patty, bun and great fries. Homemade soup, half portions and a very crowded place due to the quality of the food. Worth your time to find the time to eat here as it closes at 2pm

The food here is very good. The portions are huge , if you are not a big eater especially the sandwiches ask for a half order. Don't go between 12 and 1 though because it is always full. You can call in orders to pick up though.

Great little restaurant never disappoints. Great home style menu. Soups. Breads. Meals. All great. Fresh and tasty. Little cramped but cozy. Some days lunches can be packed so try to get in a bit earlier to get a good table. Desserts. If you can fit one in are to die for.

A great little place for lunch. The egg salad sandwich is my favorite with plenty of egg salad filling on fresh thick cut French style bread. Your choice of a full order sandwich -about the size of three sandwiches- or a half order sandwich and a side soup.

The food was great and simple not full if msg and other ingredients that make you ill. Service was great also and simple and pleasant atmosphere.

We were delighted with the meal we were served at The Cottage in mid-October. The bread was home made and fresh, the steak on my steak sandwich cooked to perfection, and the restaurant had a cozy tea room atmosphere. It was packed, but the servers were both friendly and efficient and we were served in short order. Highly recommended.

Homemade soup and homemade bread, yum! The place was packed and so you know the locals consider it a good eatery!

On this fall day, we had Lunch in Cranbrook at The Cottage. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had the daily special that was chicken fingers, Caesar salad and garlic toast. Very nice, and I enjoyed them very much. My wife had a cabbage roll and perogies, her usual favourite there.
