We had a great meal here while enjoying fabulous live jazz (guitar and bass). The decor reminded us of classic London pubs. Food was classic and delicious. Service was professional and friendly.

We arrived just before 5 pm on a Saturday night. Glad we did as we saw many set to wait in the bar not long after we settled in next to the fireplace. Stunning ambience. Loved the rich decor. Very good service and delicious dinner!

We went here to warm up after walking around Baker Street in October 2016. It was filled with people, the lights were very dim and they had the fireplace going.. soo cozy! We absolutely loved the "Sherlock Homes" kinda feel this place gave us. The walls were lined with books.. I can't remember if they're real or not but who... More

We were recommended this restaurant at the tourist information office. The restaurant is part of the hotel Hume Nelson and I got impression it was run with old fashioned ways and values. The restaurant was very busy and we were given the last table. The servers wore neat uniforms and were very polite and efficient. The menu had a good... More

the ingredients were fresh, well prepared and presented. Cozy atmosphere, pretty busy for a Thursday night but that could have been because it was Martini Thursday, my favourite.

Was looking for fish and chips this restaurant was recommended I've been here in the past so I knew that would be good. I ordered two pieces of halibut was very disappointed with the price way too expensive for this location. And then they use the excuse well it's halibut and then the cost of bringing it up that's not... More

Hi Douglas. It's not as though we are trying to offer up excuses - it's just a fact of life that the price of halibut has increased substantially over the past few years. We have priced it accordingly along with the rest of the items on our menu. We have contemplated bringing in an inferior fish like cod so we... More

Took my wife for dinner and jazz on a Tuesday night. Perfect date. The music was great. The ornate, historic atmosphere can't be beat. The food was top quality. We shared a plate of poutine to start. She ordered the steak and said it was one of the best she's had. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu. Everything from the sides... More

Description
The Hume Hotel has three different food outlets to eat in that offer the same menu and a vast array of food. A family restaurant called the General Store, an intimate fireside lounge featuring live jazz called the Library Lounge or a lively, old English-style bar called Mike's Place Pub. We cook up amazing steaks, pastas, seafood, the '100 Mile Burger', sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts. We are also known for a legendary Sunday Brunch that goes from 11am - 2pm every Sunday. We are popular for our consistency, generous portions, food quality and reasonable prices all to be enjoyed in a character atmosphere that was built in 1898. There is no place like the Hume.
