We were at the Library Lounge on a mid-afternoon December day. Such a perfect historic feeling setting to relax, catch up with family we hadn't seen for a long time, have drinks and eat. We felt there ample choice for the lunch menu and that...More

Food, service and atmosphere are all at a 5* for this place. From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcome, we sat by the fireplace and enjoyed drinks and appetisers until 5 when we could order from the main dinner menu....More

This is a very nice venue. The service was good. Unfortunately the night we were there, they had live music. The music would have been fine but it was way to loud, made conversation difficult.

We enjoyed our bar cocktails and dinner, especially with the friendly staff. Don’t expect excellence, but relax and have fun.

Nice place and cozy with great food but a little overpriced. We ate at a few places in town and this was pricier.

I had a delicious meal at this establishment. The waitress was amazing as was the food. There was a fellow playing guitar beautifully. His song selection was really cool. He was playing a lot of modern hits in a classical style!

Highly recommend the Library Lounge - really atmospheric. A lovely duo were playing the night we were there and it was perfect. We didn’t eat there but the food looked great. Seems to be reasonably price. Wish we had; more time there.

We ordered 2 appetizers; calamari and stuffed mushrooms. The calamari looked awesome when it came, it we soon found out that we needed to search through the batter to actually find the calamari. In reality, the amount of calamari morsels was less than that of...More

Hi Shauna, judging from your photo you are totally right. That is not the standard of Calamari we typically serve here. You should not have had to pay for that and we are sorry that it made its way to your table. Please make sure...More

You can go to the Hume Hotel website and there is a section called Menus. It is the same menu for all departments within the hotel!

The Library Lounge is at the heart of the Hume Hotel. Located just off the front lobby, The Library has a cozy, parlour-like atmosphere with a replica of the original Hume Hotel bar (complete with brass) polished and prepped for your visit. Caryatids and original moldings decorate the interior, as does the original monumental brick hearth and fireplace that warms the room. Full restaurant meal service is offered, as are a selection of wines, beer and spirits to complement the live jazz and other music featured nightly.
