the Library lounge is a comfortable place to sit and wait for your dinner guests to arrive, we were an hour early, no problem at all, they gave us a table for 2 with the most comfy chairs to wait... as it turned out our guests were 1/2 hour late do to construction coming from Castlegar. the staff was great... We wouldn't normally eat at the same place two nights in a row, but the Library Lounge was an exception. The food and the service were terrific. Nice quiet location and even though parts of the hotel was under renovations, this did not impact the e perience.

The Library Lounge In the Drake Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere ... and wonderful food, too. We went for lunch then the next day we were going to have dinner next door in the restaurant. As we waited in line we realized that the Lounge looked a lot more fun ... so we had dinner there. We were not disappointed.

Thanks for the great review however we are located in the historic Hume Hotel & Spa. Perhaps you were confusing us with the Drake Hotel...in Toronto? If so, I take that as HUGE compliment because that is, without a doubt, one of the coolest, artsy historic hotels that I have ever been to. We are happy that we did not... More

Two mature couples stopped here for lunch. Borscht, fish-and-chips, Reuben, hamburger - all well cooked and tasty. The server was most pleasant and accommodating (ensuring one of the meals was cooked without canola oil - allergy). The atmosphere in the lounge is appealing and inviting, quiet yet not dull. Recommended and we're all planning to visit again when in Nelson.

The music was simple...female vocalist accompanied by guitarist. The ambience ...well , dark Victorian posh warm...yet laid back! The food was old school and new..roast pork and tacos on the same menu...quiet dining room full of locals who know where the good food is.

A charming old world club feel to this fairly small and intimate dining space. Attentive service and a comprehensive menu of favorites but the kitchen let us down on this occasion. Two orders of salmon were so dry they had to be sent back but the server handled it very well. A steak was overpowered with a goat cheese and... More

We are sorry to hear that you were not impressed with the food. Perhaps we had an off night but glad hear the staff handled it well and you enjoyed the cocktails and entertainment. I hope you give us another try in the future. If not, there are many other great establishments in town as well. More

We visited the pub on a relaxing Sunday afternoon and tasted the amazing chilli lime brussel sprouts. Loved the surroundings and atmosphere so much, we returned the next evening and had a lovely dinner in the Library. Thanks to the wonderful service from Tia, we had a great evening.

We really enjoyed the evening here. The service was excellent from the initial greeting at the door to receiving our check. Great selection reasonable pricing and excellent food. The background music by a local piano player was very good as well as the mood he created.

The food was good, and the singer Sara was great. It's my second favorite restaurant after Manaeesh restaurant on baker.

After such a good review, I wonder why your second favorite restaurant in Nelson is only deserving of a three star rating. That sure doesn't speak very highly of the wonderful culinary offerings in this amazing mountain town. Nelson is known for so many great places to go to dine at but I guess we don't live up to your... More

Description
The Hume Hotel has three different food outlets to eat in that offer the same menu and a vast array of food. A family restaurant called the General Store, an intimate fireside lounge featuring live jazz called the Library Lounge or a lively, old English-style bar called Mike's Place Pub. We cook up amazing steaks, pastas, seafood, the '100 Mile Burger', sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts. We are also known for a legendary Sunday Brunch that goes from 11am - 2pm every Sunday. We are popular for our consistency, generous portions, food quality and reasonable prices all to be enjoyed in a character atmosphere that was built in 1898. There is no place like the Hume.
