we visited this restaurant during our summer travels, the staff were great & so was the food. The log cabin feel made it a very nice evening out for us.

The Grilled Prime Rib Caesar is outstanding! Although I expected six ounces, my portion was 10-12 ounces. Best homemade gravy I ever had! Recommend stopping here on the way to/after a hike at the Mt. Robson Visitor Center. (Pork Medallions dinner was good, but not as good as the Prime Rib.)

In a camper en route to Jasper Natl Park, we treated ourselves to an absolutely delicious meal at the Caribou Grill in Valemont. We both had the venison steak, which was grilled exactly to our request and was so tender and delicious! Our waitress was delightful and the whole experience was just what we needed after a long day on... More

Seems to be the place to go in Valemount. Busy midweek and had to wait at bar for a table (for around 10 minutes but got to enjoy a very good strawberry cocktail!). I had the $28 special, soup then fish with veg, mash and some lovely salsa. It tasted fresh and lovely, service was good and we generally enjoyed... More

Travelling through canada witb friends stayed ovefnight in valemont andthis restaurant was recommended. We were greeted at door by the hostess and only waited a couple of minutes before being seated. The restaurant was very busy ,a good sign. We did not wait long for our meals ,all of which we were very happy with. Can recommend this restaurant

Read the good ratings in TA and expected a great dinner. I choosed the salmon that came with vegetables and rice. The salmon was definitively overcooked and the vegetables were ok but below expectations. My wife had pork. It was good but also the side vegetables were nothing special. The friendliness of the service was below average and she forgot... More

My wife and I went on a dinner date and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This was the best meal we have had in a restaurant in a really long time. We are definitely going back. Funny we have lived in the valley for 4 years and never made here earlier.

After spending 8+ hours in the car, the Caribou Grill was just what we needed. The reviews on Trip Advisor are fair. The food is tasty, the service was wonderful and I'd return if I was in the area again. We had steak, a stuff potato (delish!!!) And a salad. The mini companion had a cheese pizza and an outrageously... More

Who'd have thought that in the middle of nowhere (sorry Valemount, British Columbia), a beautiful, fantastic restaurant would be found. We ate here two nights in a row and both meals were fantastic. Our knowledgeable server directed us both times about what to order. The food was fresh, the portions generous and the price fair. I can't imagine that someone... More

This looked like the nicest restaurant around Valemount, so we were looking forward to this being our one "nice" night out. I think the restaurant catered to tourists that they didn't necessarily have to worry about getting back in the door. The food was mediocre, but not terrible. The service was average. It was an okay meal, but expensive and... More

About Our Restaurant

Your hosts Patricia and Rudi Thoni began construction of their authentic log building in the summer of 1998 and opened for business in May 1999. The interior reflects the back woods log cabin theme with beautiful wildlife mounts, native artifacts, leather art and comfortable high back chairs.

The incredible beauty that surrounds Valemount is what brought Rudi and Patricia to the area and is what keeps them here. If you are looking for a short hike or to stay in one of our local backcountry cabins, please inquire with Patricia for some tips on the great hiking opportunities or to book a cabin.
