We stopped in here on a Saturday evening. The parking lot was full and the line was out the door. My hubby and I both had the fish & chips. They were great. However, due to so many customers, it took over an hour for us to get our order. That was a bit of a snag, but they were... More

I had heard rave reviews about the fish and chips at this restaurant and thought I would give it a try. The service was wonderful. The staff were cheerful and attentive. I was a little disappointed that the Fisherman's platter didn't include lobster or shrimp. That said the fish was very good and the scallops appeared to be hand breaded... More

We haven't been at the Shillelagh house in years so we decided to try it for Lunch. My friend had the fish and chips, which she enjoyed and i had the cheese burger and house salad. I really enjoyed both. I thought a bit expensive for a cheese burger and small house salad for 15 dollars but the portion is... More

I think I am an expert on fish and chips as I am English and these fish and chips are just perfect. They are never greasy and they serve them with vinegar. The service is always quick and friendly. I just wish they were served with mushy peas. We stop there every time we pass through Truro and that is... More

I eat here regularly with friends and have never been disappointed! The fish is always fresh and the fires are the best in Truro. PS: order the fries extra crispy and they will be the best you have ever eaten!

We had high hopes going to the Shillelagh House. Our friends raved about it and since our favourite go to place is only seasonal ( Masstown Market- Catch of the Bay), we decided to give this place a try. You order at the counter and then seat yourself in their dining room area. I ordered the 2pc fish and chips.... More

This is our favourite place for fish and chips in the Truro area. Fresh, well-cooked fish and wonky fresh hand-cut chips. They have expanded their menu options, but we always have fish and chips. Friendly casual service; order at the counter and it is brought to your table. Basic but good.
