It's a Swiss chalet, we didn't expect a gourmet meal by any means. For what we paid it was good value. I had a hot beef sandwich with veggies and fries. The gravy was superbly salty and the veggies we dry and cold for what was supposed to be cooked. On a positive note the restaurant was clean and our... More

We tried out the newly renovated Swiss Chalet for lunch. It certainly has a fresh new look inside. Much brighter and more open - walls are all light coloured, new tables and booths and the dividers are gone. The menu seemed to have changed as well. My wife couldn't find the hot chicken sandwich. I had the ribs and chicken... More

Two of us ate here on a Saturday evening. The new paint and furniture are very pleasant to look at. The menu has expanded to include roast beef. We didn't have this but the beef looked really delicious on the plates going by. I had the 1/3 ribs and 5 wings with mild sauce, along with a baked potato, roll... More

I had given up on this chain of restaurants in my local area but stopped while traveling through Truro and decided to give it a try. The food was good, served quickly and hot. The staff were very pleasant and we had a great meal. Definitely one of the better Swiss Chalet experiences in the past several years. Much better... More

Chicken is always good, the restaurant here is nice, clean and with friendly staff, it's just everything has now become average in these restaurants.

This is generally one of my favourite restaurants in Truro but I was very disappointed with my meal on my last visit. I ordered the wings, ribs and fries. The fries were shameful they were so over cooked and dry. The ribs were also dry and tasteless and not up to Swiss chalets usual standards. The wings were brought out... More

Maybe they were just having a bad day, but I was unimpressed. The food was fine, standard Swiss Chalet fare though it seemed a bit dry. Our nacho app had french fries hidden in it... Not sure how that happens, but it was a turn-off since I have a potato allergy. (In fairness, I did not tell them about the... More

We went to this restaurant twice and each time my wife and I couldn't get over how little food they give you for the amount of money you spend. They must be cutting back as they are losing money or something. I'll never go back to this restaurant again. There are several restaurants in the immediate area, choose one of... More

This is truly a great little restaurant. We stop here while traveling and always have the greatest service. The servers go out of their way to accommodate, and the atmosphere is very homey and quaint.

Description
Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what will it be? A Quarter Chicken with fries?
