CLOSED UP SHOP In 2015

This place was a local landmark for about two decades until it recently closed its doors. Well-known for butter tarts supposedly made from an old family recipe. The cafe had potential, that is about all I can really say.

Overpriced and run down, little wonder this place is closed and the building has been sold and undergoing renovations. Marty was a legend in his own mind!

The restaurant appears t be closed. Last time we were past, there was a legal notice on the door and the doors have been locked for months according to other locals.

The prices are as obnoxious as the owner. Yes they are decent but are world famous only cause it's 5 bucks a tart and you can get better tarts at other bakeries in the area.

Nothing to complain about and nothing to rave about....They take cash only so don't bring your debit card. Great cappuccino average sandwich and salad....not cheap for what you get.

I stopped by Marty's this morning hoping to pick up a coffee. The full Cafe was not open it was window service which was fine. Marty was packing up butter tarts and I said " Can I get a..." At which point he interrupted me and said " I am busy now let me finish this". At which point I... More

If you're in Bracebridge and want a really really good muffin (and apple pie) go to Marty's, be warned that he's miserable and rude. His staff are friendly so hopefully you see them first.

This place has been around for a while and is very popular. It is a good place for a break during the day. The place is cramped for sitting but cozy. We sat outside and it was pleasant except that the garbage cans were in too close range to the seating. Some smells escaped unfortunately. Hopefully, this has been improved.... More

If you are within 50 miles of Marty's in Brace bridge, turn the car in that direction right NOW. Management if very pleasant and the dessert items are the very best. They are known for their delectable butter tarts and their big-a so apple pie. Of course it goes without saying that all the offerings including the ice cream are... More

Visiting on a Beautiful rainy morning in Muskoka, we decided to treat our young family to a sweet and a hot drink. Upon arrival to Marty's we see a open window with treats in view and an open door. Marty took our order after waiting 10 minutes, 25 dollars for 2 tarts 2 teas and a coffee! But he would... More
