I asked some locals where our family could have lunch...somewhere local and not a food chain! They recommended The Jailhouse! Wow! What a fantastic experience. Not only is this place a fantastic restaurant, it used to be a jail. In fact it closed in 1998! After you order your delicious food, you can tour the old jail cells! If you... More

This is an interesting converted jail. It is a work in progress. the hotel needs a good cleaning from top to bottom. They did not clean the room on 2 night stays. The outside patio had music late and cigarette buts littered the grounds. It did have some historic significance and the jails were interesting.

This pub is built in an iconic old jail. Cobourg has to be one of the loveliest cities in Southern Ontario. Unfortunately, this pub is just awful. I had two very hungry children and a starving husband with me and so we had to pick the first place we saw. I wish I wasn't so rushed as I would have... More

We had lunch here a couple of times, very nice food in large portions. Ty who waits on you us very attentive and very polite, well done Ty! Fish and chips was really good value at $10 lots of it. The jail part is good fun to visit and free, see the iron bars holding the prisoners in and the... More

The Inn is actually the King George now and I put our review of that under that name. The restaurant is conveniently located but not open for breakfast, (though there are options nearby for hotel guests) the food is pub style and yummy. We found the outside patio too slow on service (the waiter appeared overwhelmed with just a few... More

It was so good i had to come back. What a wonderful themed pub that was an old Jail its such an eye opener. You can wander round downstairs in the cells and even the restrooms are old cells. The wine is wonderful and food on both nights been lovely. They have specials on every night so tonight we had... More

Tables inside and outside. Decent food at reasonable price. Jail flavour was present only in washrooms and at the jail exhibit itself. We had live music.Lots of tables. Free parking. Close to beach, downtown and marina. Roast beef was cut thin and cooked after cutting (re-heated?) which made it dry, though "roast beef" time has just started when we ordered.

We waited for a few minutes to be seated on the patio, which had really run down mismatched household patio furniture and chipped particle board tables. Georgous scenery beautiful view of the building and Cobourg. A seagull landed on someones head while we were there unfortunately... The menu was decent, the food however was not. I had chicken tacos; the... More

This is a unique places and you can see the historic jail and enjoy the special of the day. The serving staff run off there feet to make sure your order is the way you want. For the adults try the steal yorkie bowl or the boggie burger.
