I have seen many glowing recommendations for the Norseman. So I finally set out with my girlfriend one blistering December evening to the restaurant’s setting in Walker’s Lake setting to see what all the fuss is about. Despite trundling through thick snow we made it to the Norseman located on the first floor of a historic lodge. First we encountered... More

My Wife and I have had the pleasure of eating here on five occasions. We have had different menu items each time, for the most part. Every dish we have had has been very yummy. The portions were just enough to fill you up leaving enough room for dessert. each visit was enjoyable and satisfying!

Thanks to trip advisor we happened upon this little gem. We decided on this place because of the menu and thought it looked intriguing. It is not a cheap place but we were prepared and don't mind paying for top notch food. The staff were friendly without being intrusive, but some times a little unorganized, bumping into one another with... More

We attended the final dinner of the season with wine tasting Oct 22,2016. What a terrific experience with 4 other couples on our 3rd annual dinner. The food was wonderful from Chef Nathan and Sommolier Peter Boyd matched the wines. It was a 4 hour dining extravaganza and we absolutely loved it

Our second time at this wonderful restaurant in a lakeside resort. Food was truly excellent. Delicious Caesar salad with smoked trout to start and a very delicious venison rack, perfectly cooked. One of the lightest and creamiest creme brûlée I've ever had. A surprisingly great wine list with knowledgeable suggestions for pairing with the meal. Very attentive staff. Would recommend... More

We've been going to this restaurant for a few years now and until now it's always been amazing. But this time everything was awful. To start, the menu has changed a lot since the new chef arrived, the poor list of appetizer includes one salad and a bunch of breads - not what you expect at a fine dining restaurant.... More

The only let down was the setting inside, could do with a small fix up, the rest was very good, food tasteful, size...more than enough, location perfect

When we arrived at the restaurant for our very first time last August, we found Chef Nathan Gard standing in the parking lot rather than in front of the oven minding the kitchen. He told us that there had been a power outage in the area, making it impossible for him to prepare a meal for us that evening. Upon... More

If you're around Algonquin Park this is a place you should go to. On our table we enjoyed a romantic candlelight dinner. I had a martini and a Portobello mushroom risotto. Everything was delicious. The waitress was polite and attentive. I highly recommend it.

The Norsemen Restaurant is Muskoka's ultimate Bistro, with casual dining and "Old Muskoka" charm. Treat yourself to outstanding game, seafood, schnitzel, steak and Viking ribs. We also have delicious vegetarian and gluten free selections. The Norsemen has a reputation for great food and great times.Whether nibbling before a stone fireplace in the dining room or out on the screened-in porch, delight in a diverse menu beginning with appetite-enhancers like Garlic Shrimp Bruschetta or a Smoked Trout Caesar Salad. Inhale the savoury Venison Schnitzel, perfectly cooked Beef Tenderloin, Australian Barrumundi or Smoked Lamb Shank, considered relaxation-enhancing substances in six provinces. Stretch the languorous evening further by swaddling appetites in decadent desserts like our Rich Flourless Chocolate Cake, or bourbon and peach bread pudding, which performs its tongue ballet in tandem with lemon curd and drizzled with a sour blueberry coulis. Finish off perfectly with a cappuccino encore.(Please note the chefs changes the menu whenever he feels like it, so some items mentioned may not be available all the time)
