We were in Midland for one evening, and chose The Explorers Cafe for our dinner. What an excellent place! The dining room was cosy, the server was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding! My main dish of confit duck was so delicious -- tender and so flavourful -- I can't stop thinking about it. Great wine selection. We... More

We love the Explorer's Cafe!! It has been several months since we last visited, and we're sorry we waited so long. They are still right on their game as the best eating spot in Midland. Great menu with interesting, well-prepared dishes, amazing wine list, excellent service, fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Our group loved the duck confit, and the lasagne... More

We turned up early for dinner but that wasn't a problem. The menu is very eclectic and we were spoiled for choice. The food was really good and the wine very drinkable too. Highly recommended

There are recipes from around the world at the Explorer's Café. I had the salmon and it was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their food! The waitress was helpful and friendly.

Relaxed atmosphere, great food. We came on a Friday night without a reservation, but luckily were served at a table in the bar area. First Visit. All food was great.

my meal was very good. My partner ordered the whiefish, it was overcooked and yet watery, my guess it was frozen. For those prices, if it was "off season" it should have stated that it was frozen. the service was excellent, made you feel right at home.

This place was excellent. They had a good kids menu. Got us seated quickly. Had the food out in a timely fashion. The presentation was classy, tastes and flavours were brilliant. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal. Unique dining with kids can be an adventure!! Wish I could rate it a 4.5.

This restaurant is special in that the menu is quite different from most. The food was excellent and the service friendly. It is a little on the more expensive side but well worth it.
