Great breakfast

What can you say that's bad about a place called 'Mom's'??? My wife and I had breakfast there last Friday morning. She had the Greek Omlette and I had the 'Hungry Persons Breakfast'. She said it was the best that she'd ever had, and I really enjoyed my breakfast of sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, and a bottomless cup of coffee. A gentleman who I suppose is either the owner or the manager came to each table to make sure everyone was happy with their orders. That was something that my wife especially appreciated. Our server was a very pleasant and personable fellow, always there with a smile and a coffee pot in hand. We couldn't have had a better breakfast experience.

Came across this place by chance, will be returning

Great food, service and atmosphere. Plentiful servings. Hubby had the breakfast with 3 xlg eggs, sausage, home fries and toast and I had the burger platter with cheese and bacon on the burger with fries and gravy, Burger was sirloin so very tasty and juicy. Coffee was also very good...if in the Midland area again we would certainly return.

Old Time Restaurant -Grerat food

We had lunch here on basis of Trip Advisor reviews and not disappointed, the service was attentive, the food was "good old home cooking". Had the Clubhouse and the Rueben Special - both were excellent with real french fries. The staff are very conscientious with regard to COVID rules and clearly have taken the pandemic seriously. We felt totally safe and very well fed.

Very good family restaurant. Hubby had prime rib special which was generosly portioned and cooked the way he asked. The chicken and rib special was also generous and good. The staff were very friendly and there are barriers set up for covid. We also ate breakfast here and it was good. I would recommend this place for families, couples etc. VERY GOOD!

Ordered greek omelette and hungry man breakfast - fast came very quickly. Omelette was over done and the bacon on my partners plate seemed like it was heated up, figured they pre-make bacon and serve it to customers. Omelette didn't have any flavour. $4 for two cups of coffee, which was filled once. Staff are nice, but food could be better! This restaurant seems to always be packed? If you are from Midland, you probably think this place is "the best breakfast ever" - Honestly, Cora's does a better job.

Old world charm

Just a few days in a cottage, and had early supper. Days special, extra ordinary staff, Chilean waitress who was Miss hospitality Meal was beef ribs, fries were HOT and fresh.......... same with salad, very good ribs also. Owner came around and made sure everything was taken care of, don't see that too often. Definite repeat coming summer.

Outdated prices on web site

Although prices are subject to change, the baked potatoes were old. One dinner was ordered with French fries but came with baked potato. That dinner, pork schnitzel, came with salad. No salad, but no reduction in price. No apology! This was a takeout order. So we didn’t check dinners until we got home, ate, then went back about our concerns. We will not be back!

We chose this restaurant based on the #1 rating on TA. It seemed that 'Mom' wasn't available that night to scrutinize the quality of food we were served. The pickerel was dry, vegetables were bland and undercooked; the scallops were cooked but the sauce was tasteless and they were served on two gigantic lettuce leaves. The server was efficient and friendly although appeared flustered since they seemed short staffed. Friends asked if we would recommend this restaurant...I would not...unless you are used to your Mom cooking like this.

Whenever we're up at the cottage, we also make a point of having a meal here whether for breakfast or dinner. Portion size, presentation, are very good. Breakfast has all the familiar items, egg platters, omelettes, pancakes,french toast.....there is a lunch selections which you can have at dinner as well, such as hot beef sandwich, BLT, burger platter, fish&chips, soups, salads, pastas , the dinner entrees include a garden salad, salmon, schnitzel, new york steak 8oz, salisbury steak, liver &bacon or onions,ribs, prime rib, kids menu $8-9. Fully licenced, stand alone building, lots of parking, accessible. Use of dividers , social distancing maintained for seating, outside patio as well.

Unprofessional service and lukewarm breakfast.

Promptly seated and offered coffee immediately. Then we were totally forgotten and ignored….for an hour. My husband and I noticed several other tables of people who came in long after us being seated, orders taken, and their food served while we were still sitting there. The owner made excuses for the waitress, apologized and said coffee’s were on the house. Our food when finally served was lukewarm and not fresh. The entire meal should have been complimentary. My husband and I are both retired professionals of our business. A client/customer should always come first. Mom’s has wonderful atmosphere and charm but unfortunately that’s all.

We were seated promptly during a very busy time. Eggs Benedict was divine and the peameal bacon was cut so thick and delicious I could not eat it all. Excellent coffee. Overall an excellent experience. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

Staff was friendly and nice. Unfortunately the food was not very good. I ordered fish & chips. The French fries were not freshly cooked. They were soft and barely room temperature. The coleslaw was very good. My partner had hot hamburger with mashed potatoes. He felt the hamburger patty was dry & lacked flavour. He had the mashed potatoes that were tasteless and not very warm.

Great service and excellent food!

We stopped at Mom’s restaurant without a reservation and greeted warmly and promptly by the owner. Jesse was our server and she was prompt, efficient and always smiling. Our food was hot, delicious and plentiful. We will definitely return. The restaurant was COVID-19 secure with plexiglass partitions between all tables.

We had a patio dinner last week and I felt completely confident that all measures were taken for our safety. We ordered the fisherman’s platter and schnitzel. The food was so good! I would eat here again. Staff were very friendly. Lovely place

Great Food... Terrible Service

Our last two visits we have had the same waiter.. He was quick to take our order and deliver food (food was great) but didn't return to our table until it was clear we were done our meals. Drinks were empty for over 20 minutes. Plates were empty for several minutes. Both times the restaurant was well below capacity. Our waiter was seen socializing with other patrons. While other staff continually checked on their tables. Hope he got the point with his $1 tip..
