We happened upon this restaurant by accident. We really didn't know what we wanted but Port Dover was so busy, we decided to drive to the next town. We were so glad we did. I had the gluten-free penne with sausage and my husband had spaghetti with meat sauce. The food was soooo good! The waitress was very accommodating, offering... More

I've been coming to the Barrel almost my entire life. Came hundreds of time as a kid, and on dates with my boyfriend who is now my husband. Ate there throughout my pregnancy and now we also bring our daughter here. The food is being incredible. Everything is always hot and fresh and tastes amazing. Thanks Barrel for being like... More

We were in Simcoe for an overnight stay and because its a small town didn't expect any great restaurants. When we walked in I assumed a chain like experience but boy was I wrong. They had so many selections. My husband had the grilled perch dish and I had a vermicelli dish with seafood. Both were outstanding dishes, and nicely... More

We went with friends who live in the area, their choice. The food & service was excellent. Wish they were in our area (4+ hours away). Will be going back again for sure.

We have stopped in a couple times and have enjoyed the pizza. Prices are a little high but for good pizza that's what you pay. The menu has lots to chose from. Decor is nothing special. They do have a patio which is back off the main street. Would recommend for sure.

My wife and I visit The Barrel on a regular basis and it's certainly a local favourite. Ordered the Angle Hair Primavera last night and it was served with a "heavy" marinara sauce? Primavera should be an oil based light sauce not ladened with an over spiced tomato base paste. Spoke with the wait staff about the situation and they... More

The staff is nice and friendly. The restaurant is clean and neat. The food is better than your average chain restaurants. It's not boil in a bag food. I have eaten here more than a few times and never been disappointed. Good valve. A nice touch is they carry Rambling Road Beer. It's a local Brewery and a very good... More

I have never been disappointed by a meal at this restaurant. I believe the menu has something that would appeal to everyone, even those with special dietary needs. I especially enjoy the Italian Melt sandwich and I most recently had the Linguine Pescatore which was delicious. The service is consistently friendly and efficient. The only problem I have at this...
