The owner of the Lady Macdonald Inn recommended that we try this bakery/cafe for lunch and we were so glad did. The soup, bread and pastries we had were absolutely delicious and I would have loved to have sampled a lot more of the scrumptious looking cakes that were on display. The bakery is hidden away at the bottom of... More

From the moment we walked into this bakery, we felt transported to France! We were greeted by a lovely proprietor and took a long time to decide what we wanted to eat - everything looked delicious! We eventually settled on tea and cappuccino, while I had a pastry that was essentially bread filled with dark chocolate and my husband had... More

This bakery has hands down the best baguette's I've tasted in Alberta! They also have a sharing baguette that is as wonderful. We visited daily during our stay in Canmore for a fresh baguette 😋 The showcase is a visual wonderland - we tried as many of their treats as our waistlines would allow. The macaroons are a special treat.... More

We were looking for an alternate to fast food in Canmore, but still didn't want the delay of a regular sit down restaurant. Wow - this place fit the need and was a culinary highlight. My quiche and salad were mouthwatering, and the kids loved their food too. It was somewhat more than a burger of course, but so worth... More

Call me a Philistine but I like carrot cake moist with carrot raisins and nuts .... A heavier cake. The carrot cake at Le Fournil was fine and delicate. The icing was too sweet. But that's my preference I wouldn't order that again. I would certainty return. I just made a bad choice for me. There was another purchase made... More

To find something of Le Fournil's calibre in a mountain town is quite extraordinary. The croissants are wonderful, their pastries are all great. But the even better news is my two favourites - 1) the chocolate salted caramel tarts are very small and just perfect in every way. Try one - you won't be disappointed. Perfect on the side of... I have been in many times. Always friendly and excellent food. Beautiful pastries. A good place to stop for a latte, hot chocolate and snack. Also great for a full lunch.

Beautiful displays of pasteries and breads. Croissants and breads equal to what you would expect in une bonne boulangerie francaise.... but you pay for it. Not cheap but very good and high quaility.

Loved our visit to this very clean and pristine bakery. Professional dressed staff and loved the French accents and speaking and music. Small but all anyone could need with lovely choices to please everyone. Lots of seating in and out. Attention to detail. Exceptional taste and close your eyes...and you are in France! Very handy location on main road and... More

Wow, this is one of the best French bakeries this side of the Atlantic! If you like the Duchess bakery in Edmonton or Manuel Latrewe in Calgary....Le Fournil is better! The croissants are so buttery and awesomely delicious. A must try if you are enroute to Banff. In fact, if you live in Calgary, it's well worth the 60 min... More
