Fresh and tasty

Food was great. Fresh and well prepared. Would go back for sure. We had the salmon sandwich and the soup. Neither of which came out of a can. Maybe try to find a coupon, not cheap.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Le fournil Bakery. I am sorry to hear that our sandwiches proved to be hard for you to eat. We make all of our breads fresh, daily, on site, using the French artisan tradition; as such, our breads have a more substantial crust than North American breads.... More

This bakery was recommended to us by some locals and the baguette's didn't disappoint. As others have mentioned show up early to avoid disappointment. I would have rated this bakery excellent but the lady working was a little crusty and the dinning area was cluttered with used dishes. In her defense it was busy and she appeared to be alone.... Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Le fournil Bakery. I am glad you were satisfied with your purchases, and that you plan on visiting us again. You are indeed correct in that our server was working alone; as many in the Bow Valley know, staffing can be a challenge and we must do... More

Le Fournil is one of my favourite places in Canmore. Their breads are fresh, crunchy and remind me of the great baking we often took for granted back in Europe. And I have had many croissants in lots of places, but the croissants by Le Fournil just rock ! And their pâtisserie is not only really tasty but they look... More

This hard to find bakery is just east of the hospital on Bow Trail which is NOT near the main shopping area downtown. Great selection of on site made bakery and dessert items that make your mouth water. You can eat on site with cappuccino or take away. Very popular with the locals so the early bird gets the baguette.

We showed up a few minute before opening and waited in our vehicle until 8am. At 8 we went to the door which was still locked. Four staff people were standing inside looking at us as we waited in the sub-zero cold. After a few minutes we asked through a window that was cracked open if they would let us... More

We try to stop by every time we go to Canmore. The croissants and pains au chocolat taste like what you could find in France: delicious.

I go to Le Fournil frequently, because if you want to treat yourself, why not do it with the very best available? Their coffee is delicious, and the breads and pastries are just about perfect. The blueberry danish is downright decadent. And they make the best jambon beurre sandwich in the known world. I agree that it feels a bit... More

The very best in bread, croissants and treats for the family. The most authentic French baking you will have outside of France, better than Quebec.
