After 4 years in Canada (Alberta), all my previous experiences of poutine were "meh, what is all the fuss about?". Two weeks ago an ex-Quebecer work colleague told me about "the best poutine west of Montreal" at La Belle. Visited there last weekend after a day hike, and yummy, finally I understand the hype about poutine. This stuff is awesome!... More

If you are visiting Canmore or passing through you have to try Poutine at La Belle Patate. It's ingredients are all fresh and the Poutine is amazing! Not too expensive and definitely worth trying. Hopefully I will come back soon!

A year ago they decided to change the gravy recipe so it is now no longer gluten free, I had found an old review where it said it was so daughter was a bit glum. They could however do fries with curds which was gluten free so she was happy bunny. I had the mixed meats and it was as... More

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Banff. I absolutely loved the food! It took a while to get our food, but the gent at the counter was very friendly and explained why. Three of seven ordered the meat lovers poutine and it takes longer to cook. Worth the wait is my opinion but of your in a... More

If you like poutine, this is worth a visit. Delicious fries, authentic sauce and delightful squeaky cheese curds. We went with the original, but we will definitely be back to sample one of the multiple variations. It ain't much for ambience, but there is plenty of Québécois and Montreal Canadiens memorabilia.

Ordered a large supreme to share for lunch, subbed green pepper for onions. $16. Hot and delicious poutine, so many toppings. We sat outside in the shade at a picnic table. Kid friendly.

Its a little off the beaten path in maybe id say the industrial part of Canmore but it really s great comfort home food. The guy who runs it is from Montreal, hence all the hockey stuff. I watched the game on TV and read a paper and the food was really, very good and it was not to bad... More

Lets just make this clear, best poutine I have had in Canada (BC & Alberta so far). Home style fries, good amount of gravy, great tasting toppings. Service was friendly and bubbly and you could tell that the employees enjoyed working there. Clean environment. Will be back!

On the long weekend we decided to drive to Canmore to have lunch at La Belle Patate. It rained all the way to Canmore, however, it was worth the drive. The place was packed when we walked in, we didn't wait too long to order or to pick up our order. I had the Smoked Meat Sandwich and Traditional Poutine,... More
