The Black Bear has all the atmosphere and character of a nice pub, and excellent service, but I have to say that the food we ordered was disappointing. Two of us had scallops with spinach and almonds: these salads were drenched with onions, however, and these undermined the rest of the dish. Similarly, the calamari (in the form of baby... More

Good food, friendly service, not the most comfortable chairs. Went on a Sunday afternoon after walking through Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver.

We stopped in for lunch at the Black Bear Pub and had a beer and shared the quesadilla. It was one of the best quesadilla's I have ever had, very, very, good and a generous size. They also have an eclectic menu with lots of other choices.

This Pub is perfect! The food is fresh an delicius. You have so many options for good beer. These guys have many good beers and specials offers. The waitress' are really friendly and always smiling. A lot of good evenings here on my trip around Canada. Get in and enjoy a very good canaidan Pub feeling :)

A very nice BC Pub great staff who have been there forever, always a good sign of a good business run be good people. Not sure how that reflects on the customer experience but it does the place gives a good vibe and any ghosts would be friendly as well. Good Pub food definitely worth a second friendly visit.

For our local pub its a regular visit. The food is always outstanding and fresh. The service, even on busy nights, is quick and attentive and polite. I would suggest they expand/refresh their salad options and maybe add a new dessert. Having a weekly special that changes could also be a good option. The beer choice is good and they... More

Went to enjoy an evening meal as we had been driving past after viewing some houses. The atmosphere was cold and we didn't feel welcome, we felt that we were annoying staff when we asked for a different table as we'd been placed in the middle of a load of other tables which were loud and very close to us... After a very long and sweaty bike ride up the Seymour Valley we found the Black Bear on our way home. Free bike wash, excellent beer and fab food, life saver!

Nothing special. The food is decent enough. Very loud - difficult to hear what the person across the table is saying. The beers are good and the wine OK.
