Décor is smart, clean, appropriate for the historic fishing village. Service is perfect; attentive, but unpretentious, from arrival to departure. Menu has enough variety, but does not overwhelm. Presentation is unique and appealing. Most importantly, the flavours are excellent. Would prefer a tomato base for the bouillabaisse. Portions are just right. Loved the deserts with subtle features and flavours.

Lucked out when we came to this restaurant. Kent was great: attentive, funny and knowledgeable. The smoked cod was an experience... Great place.

Having read mostly favorable reviews, we decided to give it a try -- we weren't disappointed. Split a crab/shrimp/avocado salad (they plated separately)and our two yummy (and generous) entrees were halibut and rack of lamb. Our Syrah by the glass was good. Friendly, professional server. And we got a window table. All in all, a fine meal.

Old fashioned, good service, but bland, awful food. I had the bouillabaisse, the broth was tasteless, and the fish dry. I tried another of my party's fish, I believe it might have been halibut, but it was so dry and tough that we gave up after a couple bites. Very charming service and atmosphere, however, quaint and old fashioned. I'd... More

We have been here several times and the food and presentation is always good. The pricing is appropriate for fine dining, definitely not casual. Their advertised specials have included fixed price, four course meals which are good value. When we had a fixed price meal with the offered wine pairing, it was excellent.

My wife and enjoyed and excellent meal at Steveston Seafood House. We both ordered a crab dinner and we loved it. Price was a little high but for our special occasion I felt it was worth it. Our waiter Kent, was one of the best we've had. Very nice, polite and funny. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have to say that we've never tasted food quite like it. Everything on the menu was so tempting it was difficult to make a choice, but what we had (smoked black cod for me and salmon and tiger prawns for my husband) were sublime. The flavours were beyond compare. Do I sound like an over ebullient food critic? Yep,... More

The shared seafood platter is excellent. I gave it an average not because of the food nor the service, both are great. I do find the restaurant a bit pricy for the location and the menu items. However, it is Richmond, there is a lack of "finer" dining and that restaurant is certainly excellent in all aspects.

All that needs to be said is in my review title. Aside from the oysters -- which were fresh, tasty and had good variety -- there was absolutely nothing special about the 3 dishes that we ordered. At these prices, you can do much better in other restaurants around Steveston.

the Seafood house lives up to its name and presents it in a fine fashion. We were blessed with 4 "free appetizers" from our Stonehenge B&B hosts, and we should have stopped there. But no, we ordered entree's and we were overwhelmed by the amount and quality of the food. The smoked black cod was generous in size and delicious;... More
