First visit to this restaurant since the change in ownership. The food was as good, possibly better..which means it was a fabulous meal. The service was even better as it was less starchy than before. It's not inexpensive, but the MenuDecouverte and Delectation were well chosen, a delight to the eye and stomach!

On a lovely summers evening, dining on the terrace in dappled sunlight,we partook of the menu gastronomic 125 euros and a delight of colour and taste to behold, all washed down with a wonderful Pomerol. In fact two bottles between three. Service as usual extremely good.

On a warm August evening in Saint Médard, we were among about 40 people who had chosen to dine at Le Gindreau. The other guests seemed to be almost all French; many of them probably enjoying a summer holiday in the Lot. The terrace at Le Gindreau, on the hillside overlooking the valley, is a lovely place to spend a... More

Our fourth visit to this lovely Michelin starred restaurant and it doesn't get much better than this. Stylish but unpretentious this eatery is about 30 minutes west of Cahors tucked away in a small village surrounded by woodland. Delightful mise en bouche packed full of interesting flavours displaying great skill. Foie gras en papillote was amazing as was the traditional... More

This restaurant draws us back every time we have something special to celebrate; this time it was a birthday. We really like the seating arrangements which allow you to feel separate from the other guests and yet connected by the vision of dishes which appear at other tables. Today's meal was exceptional with one of us going for fish based... More

This is not an easy review to do but I have to say that we have now been disappointed on the last 2 occasions ,both for dinner...there is no doubting the skill of the current chef and his team offer an excellent ,attentive service but the food, attractive as it may be with its artistry and invention,is more of a... Le Gidreau akes serious business out of food. That means that is is situated, as a high end restaurant at an unexpected place. Therefore it has to be surprisingly good to attract enough customers to allow the restaurant to stay alive at this somewhat secluded place for such a restaurant. It does. We had a very lovely evening with a... More

This was a Sunday lunchtime meal in March. We took a friend who had not been before and, like us, was so impressed. Firstly the welcom and service are delightful. You feel welcome, well-attended to but not over-fussed. The food from start to finish is full of complex, interesting combinations, The flavours never fail to impress and presentation is not... Both food and service here can be characterized as unobtrusive, but offering distinctive pleasures. Both demonstrate a high level of expertise and reflect the joy of a good repast. Delicious local wines. The spacious dining room is simultaneously elegant and rustic. A crackling fire was thoughtfully stoked in the giant hearth on this chilly fall evening. St. Médard is a...
