For straight seafood cuisine, it's hard to think of somewhere better than Casa Rafa (and I don't mean just in Lanzarote). The produce is clearly super. But tribute must be paid to the kitchen too - because while they certainly don't invent fancy dishes, they...shine for perfect cooking and preparation. We had starters of a chunky, tender octopus and a melt-in-the-mouth tuna takaki coming with caramelised onions. Then came a large half of a barracuda, which we shared between the two of us but would have easily nourished three. The exemplary caramelisation of the outside, the succulent and firm flesh, the lovely Canarian potatoes and the fried garlic on the side...what a triumph. And for dessert, something that they are also very good at here, the traditional Bienmesabe. Nice open air terrace with a bit of sea in view. Service is to the point and efficient (can be a little slow just at very busy times, otherwise perfect), with "the boss" particularly charming. The prices, both for food and for wine, will positively surprise you given the quality and the quantity.More

I visited restaurant with my husbend. We ordered: 1. Fish of the day - big portion, tasty 2. Red prowns - very deletious 3. Flan - quite good 3. Quastilee desert (I’m not sure of the name) - very very tasty. Visiting Casa Rafa was...very positive experience, with good waiters service.More

Our first visit to this family owned business. All the staff were welcoming and professional. We tried the fresh Grouper fish which was delicious and is shared between 2 people. We were also impressed with Paella, again for 2 people. No wonder previous reviews highly rated this...great restaurant. Well done to all the guys here, and thank you for a memorable meal.More

If i could put 10 stars, I would do it! The best restaurant in Lanzarote. Me and my partner are Italian, from south(beach side) and we love fish and seafood, casa Rafa was something amazing, the taste of the food was incredibly good and fresh! We...felt at home,it was exactly what we were looking for! We had also a bottle of white wine from Lanzarote, even the wine was so tasty! We had a lunch right in front of the sea, it was just PERFECT! The price range is really good, compare to the quality of the food : simply AMAZING!!All the staff was so polite, professional, helpful, friendly and really nice! I highly recommend this place! On our next trip to Lanzarote, it will be the 1st one where we will go!More

Fabulous food in nice, relaxing atmosphere with a view of the sea over the rooftops. It was the best paella we ever had, plus great welcome and service. Was busy - you might want to reserve a table.

Incredibile quality of the food, researched to offer a value for money offer to its clients. The Arroz con carabineros was spectacular. It included a wonderful training by the service about how to clean it without messing around ;) they gave lactose free home made...ice cream with local fruit that is a plus. The home made desserts are delicious. Also best mojo I have never had! The avocado version very tastyMore

This is indeed a good restaurant within a short walking distance from Charco de los Clicos. It was very busy and we were relieved to get a table despite not having reserved beforehand. There are no sea views from the restaurant but the food more...than makes up for it. Delicious, satisfying seafood arroz caldoso and good service.More

Rightly or wrongly, I generally don’t bother any more with reviews of restaurants where everything was ‘OK’. But just every now and then I find one that stands out. My wife and I chose to try Casa Rafa for lunch. All the staff were welcoming...and attentive. We shared Canarian potatoes and garlic bread to start. The potatoes were perfect - not covered in salt crystals as sometimes happens and they came with three different delicious sauces. For the main course, we shared a seafood Paella which we both felt was the best we’d ever had. The house wine also seemed a cut above the norm. The bill was a surprise; it was somewhat less than we expected. The restaurant is in a superb location, raised so there were good sea views - and cleverly designed so that you could be sheltered from the prevailing wind whilst maintaining the view. It’s a shame that the direct route from Playa Blanca is closed at the moment - but this restaurant, along with El Golfo’s other attractions make it well worth the longer journey. We will definitely be going again before we leave the island.More

Pitched up at 1245 on a wild and windy day without a booking. El Golfo is a wonderful coastal location. Great table inside - wouldn't have wanted to be outdoors on a day like this - with good view to sea. Pleasant, calm atmosphere, music...not too intrusive. Staff helpful, efficient and energetic (really notice this after SW England). Became busier after 1300, presumably with bookings. International. Fish of the day...cherne...plentiful, accurately cooked and well-flavoured, beautifully served and very well-priced. Beer. Just perfect. Again, card payment welcomed.More
