Delicious Mexican food served hot and quick. Drinks are enormous but you must be careful of the altitude. Very friendly service.

The service was really great. Our waiter was prompt and kind. The food was not worth writing home about but it hit the spot.
Our short experience was very disappointing since we had been to this establishment 4 years ago and the food and service was great. So, maybe this was a fluke. But the host passed our menus to another employee who was to seat us outside. She...closed the door on my face. Put us in a terrible table that was blocked by a pier and a congested walk way. Before we could ask for another table....she threw the menus on the table and left. She didn't say one word to us. We got up and left.More
I am so sorry to hear about your recent experience at our establishment. We always strive to make our guests feel welcomed and valued so I apologize we fell short on this. As a host(ess), your most important job is to greet the guests with...More
To start we were lucky that there was no wait and we sat down immediately. Which was fantastic. We tested 3 different appetizers & a ton of different entrees. We felt that the fajita beef was the best. Check out TheCompleteCouple on YouTube for a...full review and to see the food!!More
They do not take reservations and the few times we tried to get a table the wait time was about 2 hours. This is impossible to do when you are with a little child. Since I did not want to get far from downtown I...ordered food to go twice. The first time I paid the bill and left a tip. A few days later I got another to go order and the person who took it told me that there is a 15% tip automatically added on to go orders. I asked why would 15% be automatically added and the person told me that it is for the kitchen staff as they had hard times due to COVID. I looked at the receipt later and there was a service charge of 15% which also had a sales tax on it. I am not sure how they are being affected by COVID as they regularly have over an hour wait times for getting a table. I think I also had the 15% service charge on the first to go order and I also left a tip since I was not aware of the automatic 15% service charge. So make sure you look at you bill to see what they are charging for. When my order was ready another person gave it to me. They asked me if I want utensils and I asked for utensils for 3 people as the order was for 3 people, The person asked me if 2 forks and a spoon will be good enough. I was quite surprised, but said yes. Neither the person who took the order or the person who gave me the food said thank you for ordering or even greeted me. I have eaten here several times as I often visit Heavenly, but this will be the last time. We had a great time at other restaurants in South Lake Tahoe , much better service and no automatic 15% on to go orders.More
Hello, we are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. I have had a conversation with my bartenders about making sure every single guest knows about gratuity on to go orders. Thank you for that feedback. We do include a 15%...More
Great spot to eat! Food was high quality. Great energy. Known for their margaritas. Staff is hard working and friendly. Crowded but not overwhelming.
Best Mexican ! Homemade salsa and chips. Chicken enchiladas were better than any I have had anywhere. They came in a skillet eith two cheeses black beans and green rice. Chicken quesdillo huge and young adults loved them. They made beef nachos for one of...our quests and was thinly sliced beef steak! Wonderful surprise. Would highly recommend. Very large portions and everyone took food home. Outdoor area with heaters and indoor dining. Atmosphere excellent.More
Came here with friends on our ski trip to Heavenly. Disappointed they did not take reservations! We all ordered different dinner entrees. My burrito was slightly dry. Tiny plastic cup with a tiny bit of sauce did not begin to cover the top of the...burrito. Also disappointed they did not give you chips and salsa while you are waiting like we are used to.More
The food was amazing. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were a good size. I will be coming back here to eat the next time I visit.
Even in this very busy room, filled with after-ski and fun crowd, we were quietly welcome by a friendly and helpful server who found for us a spot near the bar. The food was delicious specially the veggie chili and the Azul nacho grande. The...green rice is simply delicious !! and the portions are generous ...More
Azul has a wonderful selection of tequila including their strawberry infused tequila which was very delightful. Located in the Heavily Village it is in a convenient location. They have standard table seating along with bar and patio seating. We visited in November and the patio...was open with heaters. We sat at the bar. We started with chips and salsa. The chips were served warm and the salsa was very flavorful. My friend ordered the two taco combo with carnitas and fish tacos and a side of rice of beans. I ordered a steak quesadilla which was first brought out as shrimp quesadilla and was quickly fixed and a steak quesadilla was served. It was delicious! This is a great place to visit while in Tahoe and as I continue to visit Tahoe to snowboard this season, I will have Azul Latin Kitchen on my places to enjoy.More
Happy servers, tasty homemade salsas, generous drinks and an upbeat vibe. We especially loved the tacos and the salsa and chips because of the homemade sauce. Our server was Erin and she was wonderful.
We came here for an early dinner and sat indoors, although many people sat outdoors near the heaters. Our waitress, Luca, was excellent. The food did not disappoint. The food and bar menu was extensive and had something for everyone. The portions were generous, if we...wanted we could have had leftovers for next day’s lunch. I am plant based, so I got the sweet potato fajita bowl. It had a lot of flavor. Their cabbage slaw is delicious, like none I’ve had. My husband ordered the pork carnitas fajitas. It came with salsa and a few chips. Their salsa is made fresh and is good (maybe a hint of cinnamon? I can’t say). I wished we had ordered some salsa and chips as a starter. My husband ordered 2 different IPAs. I had the Jalapeño y Mas margarita. It was so good I ordered a second. Handcrafted-none of that syrupy, sweet yuck! If you love a spicy cocktail, I highly recommend.More
We went late on a Friday in October, before crowds come in for the holidays. We sat outside with heat lamps. It was so pleasant. A sprinkling of people walking by. Beer was good, cocktail was fresh. This was such a surprise- the food was...absolutely AMAZING. Best flavors and combos. I had a sweet potato taco and a chicken taco w green rice and smashed pintos. My friend had chicken enchilada with black beans and green rice. The tortillas are made with a hybrid corn - different kind of texture; best tacos I’ve ever had. 100% It’s a mix of culture flavors. Beautiful presentation. I jumped in before I took a photo. Wished I had. Service was just right. Worth the 25 min wait.More
This was not just another Mexican restaurant. The Enchiladas with carnitas were done layered in one big bow and the sauce was excellent. The server was very friendly and quick
