I can't eat gluten -- it's not a choice for me. This place had absolutely nothing to offer me for dinner except some questionable wine choices, French fries and one salad. That's it. And the waiter was so clueless, he told me that potatoes have gluten! Dude: either you know what you're talking about or you shouldn't be making diet... More

Our waiter was so kind and so much fun. The sauerbraten was excellent. I have had them at some other German Restaurants in California and never tasted as good as the one in Zurndorf in Germany. Hummel Haus was the closest in taste.

A little off the beaten track, but this is the place to go if you are looking for excellent German beer and good food, in a rather seedy looking bar/restaurant. The menu is fairly restricted, and it concentrates on various German dishes, especially sausages; but the beer list is enviable, and it is all on tap if I remember correctly.... More

The parking area kind of put me off; it looks like a big house where someone is having a party. Once we got inside, though, the place looked just like any number of beer halls I've seen. The pretzel appetizer was so tasty, and the mustard selection for it and the wurst was as good as any I can remember... More

A staff member at our hotel suggested this restaurant since it's listed as the #3 restaurant in the area. We were not disappointed!! Terrance was our charming server, a professional skier in the season. We started with the Bockwurst plate and Blue cheese & Apple salad. We asked for a side of their red cabbage, don't miss it since we... More

My boyfriend and I went to have dinner here and thought we would have the total German experience. We were wrong. Half of the restaurant is a bar and the other more formal dinning. We happened to be placed by the bar. The sausages aren't real Brats. Haven been to German, I was a bit disappointed.

My family and I went to this restaurant, found it accidentally on the internet and were very pleased by the result. We had a great servant and an amazing food experience. We also played Foosball and had a lot of fun.

You know how sometimes a place just feels right? Well Himmel Haous is one of those places. And It lives up to the feeling. It was recommended to us by locals which is almost always a major clue. The people who served us were friendly and fun. The German beer selection was large. Everyone in our party of 4 loved... More

We wanted authentic German food. MAN! This is the place. Make a reservation and come early. The German beer is surpassed only by the great tasting dishes served by a friendly staff. Our Server was quick, with our drinks and bringing us our meals. The Saurbratten and Schnitzell plates are the real deal. A must for couples and good friends.... More

Himmel Haus does not appear to have a native German chef. They do have people that work here that love German food. Coming here is like going to a German restaurant that an American who loved German food opened. I would call it German food, American style (like TexMex is not authentic mexican). It is all lovingly prepared and with... More
