Went for an early dinner 2 days ago. Server was rushed and looked overcommitted but took time to come to our table pretty quickly and let us know she would be a few minutes - nice touch and I have sat ignored musch longer at...other very nice restaurants; her service after was exemplary. Clam chowder was very tasty but only lukewarm. My fish and chips was great, but my wife's hamburger was not as good as elsewhere (she ate 1/3 and finished my fish). Price about average for this type of restaurant. We will be back to try other menu items.More

I went to the restaurant twice. The food is good and the service is friendly. I especially liked the server, Jennifer. The place needs a total renovation badly. The atmosphere is very dark. That's why I rated it average. I would recommend the restaurant.

The Max has been one of our favorite go to spots for years! We love the ambiance, the stellar food and most excellent service. You should definitely consider an overnight stay as well! Their suite has a bathroom the size of an apartment! The tub...for two is divine! Highly recommend this hotel for travelers or stay vacationers!More

While we knew it would be very good, we just wanted to let you know we were BLOWN AWAY. We ordered the Easter Dinner for four from your restaurant with a 4pm pickup time. The large amount of food was unexpected, and the quality was...unbelievably amazing. I said to my husband, if they do Christmas dinners curbside, I AM IN!! We were over-the-top impressed we were by the whole experience of curbside pickup. Not only did it look so professional with the podiums (and I noticed how careful they were being about separating the sanitized pens), but your staff was so incredibly organized, so friendly and pleasant and so hard-working. Honestly, they were amazing. You rarely see that level of pride anymore. They are an exemplary group of people. I am going to find a way to write as many wonderful reviews as I can to let people know they need to order take-out from Max. But in the meantime, our hats off to you all for making our Easter family dinner as incredibly easy and as fabulous as it could be. Thank you, and hats off!More

Restaurant is very attractive and menu diverse. My trout salad was excellent and my fellow diners enjoyed their meals as well.

Food is above average with a good selection. Price point is on par with similar venues. Bar service is painfully slow. Order additional cacktails from the start, and before your food order. Food Service can be hit or miss as well. (Make sure you ordered...what you are served) I don't suggest dining with more than two couples, the experience can be rather unpleasant. As stated, the food is quite good, but my experiences with groups of more than four have not been noteworthy.More

We stop in here many times thruout the year. Fri and Sat usually offers live music, nice dancefloor, ambiance, food and wine. The service has always been good.

Staff were very accommodating, knowledgeable, attentive and genuine. We particularly appreciated our server Eddie, he was exceptionally thoughtful even though the place was busy. The food was very good. The oysters were lovely with fresh grated horseradish. They served bread with amazing dipping sauce. I...believe it was a creme fraiche with fresh garlic piped onto a plate with pesto, balsamic and olive oil... Cue ethereal music soo good... The seared tuna with rice or yam noodles and sauteed veggies was delicious; as was the Cioppino with prawns, clams, king crab, mussels, scallops and crayfish. The holiday decor was tasteful. Wine and liquor highlights more local brands which is nice to see. I would recommend trying Max and we will return.More
