Went with a group and had a great time with the kitchen crew making our lunch. The family is very proud of their little restaurant as well they should be. Worth a trip out of Havana.

The waiter explained everything in great detail from the first course to the last. They were very accommodating to a member of our group who was diabetic. The food was excellent including the simple appetizers and the rice pudding. The drinks were great! Next time...we will book a cooking class!More

Our day started with a taxi ride to Finca Vigía, Hemmingway's country home in Havana, Cuba. After a most enjoyable drive, we headed to a cigar factory tour then on to Ajiaco Cafe. The open air dining room is charming with its linen covered tables....Being a large group, we were offered an assortment from their menu served family style. The food was absolutely delicious. Croquetas, empanadas, mojitos, homemade bread rolls. Served family style, we had a delicious thick squash soup cooked in chicken broth, a seafood or fish stew with yucca or other root vegetables, and other veggies. Of course there was also rice and beans, salad and a rice pudding for dessert. I've since learned that they offer cooking classes. I am already plotting a return visit to Cuba and with luck, will go on my own kind of tour - all about cooking.More

We stopped at Ajiaco Cafe on a Hemingway tour of Cuba. Every dish from appetizers to dessert was outstanding. The cafe had great, friendly servers who were great in explaining the Cuban dishes we were served. To top it off, the drinks were excellent. Each...person of the group raved about the experience.More

You can come in here for a meal but you can also book a Cuban Cooking Class. It lasted a whole day, they organised us a taxi there and back (for an additional fee). It was not cheap but boy, we will never forget this...experience. They showed us their garden, taught us all about the plants, herbs and veg they grow, they shared their history with us, then they taught us how to make a mojito. It was the best mojito I have ever had and they spoiled it for us, as no mojito after tasted the same ever. They showed us how to cook different dishes. We dined after like queens and we had best coffee we have ever had with Maria, all drinks and food included, we also got an apron and a mojito tool as souvenirs home. I honestly cannot recommend it enough. They showed us true Cuban food and hospitality. I cannot recommend it enough.More
