We went to this place on advice of friends to enjoy Devonshire tea. Much to my disappointment when the scones, jam and cream arrived it was that horrible cream that disappears before you eyes as you try and spread it on your scones. Yes you saved some money but I will never go back. Proper whipped cream is easy to... More

Great setting, atmosphere and food. Perfect on a weekend and very relaxing. Coffee was the only reason I didn't give it a perfect score. Just a little bitter.

This cafe is part of a collection of several historic and modern buildings that comprise the Village Square in Highfields. The cafe has a broad menu from Devonshire Teas, gournet toasts, homemade pies to substantial gourmet lunches, and broad range of housemade chocolates.

It's been a number of years since my wife and I visited The Chocolate Cottage, so we decided to drop in, and have a coffee, and a light meal. After placing my order for one Piccolo Coffee (basically a shot glass sized coffee) and an Iced Coffee, I went back to the table my wife had selected. I asked her...."How... More

Many years ago this use to be quite nice. Now it's merely an over priced cafe with a fly problem. Had no option but to sit outside due to lack of space inside as it's tiny. Waited for our $100 lunch under little umbrellas in a grassy field. Lunch arrived and then the flies came. We had to scoff our... More

Very busy little place, fantastic views and spacious outside. Second time I've visited. We ordered hot drinks, chocolates and scones. Scones were nice, tasty jam to go with. My hot chocolate was nothing special, as were the single chocolates we ate. Same thing last time. Being named accordingly, it would be better if the chocolate side of things were better.
