We stayed at the Duke of York campsite, nice place with lovely views, very busy road. The pub was closing when we arrived as I think the landlord was leaving, which may explain why it looked a little run down. Give it a miss.

Lovely spot in Derbyshire Dales convenient on road from Ashbourne to Buxton. Welcoming and obliging staff. Good menu with some "specials". Reasonable speed of service and food freshly cooked. Very clean facilities.

The Duke of York is conveniently located on the A515 between Buxton and Ashbourne. Approximately 12 Miles from Ashbourne and only 6 Miles from Buxton. Offering ample parking for cars, motor homes and coach's. We offer Real Ales, Log Fires and Traditional homemade food (including the chips)with the option of choices from our Specials Board. Steak & Burger Night is on a Tuesday with Pie Night on a Wednesday. Our Sunday Carvery is available 12-4pm changing to plated Sunday Roasts 4-8pm(You can also choose from our Main Menu all day) The recently refurbished campsite has stunning views of the Peak District and offers All Year camping facilities with 15 hard standing and 15 grass pitches. An additional 30 tent pitches are available April to October. The shower/toilet block has underfloor heating. Friendly Dogs on leads are Welcome in the Bar and on the campsite.
