Stopped for a break on the way down south. We found this cafe at the back of the hotel which had lovely open grounds overlooking the Clarence River. There were ample outdoor settings under shaded trees. We ordered coffee and muffins all of which were good. The staff member who served us could display a little more of a welcoming... More

My wife and I stopped at Ulmarra un expectantly for a coffee break and ended up at the Café Clarence. In short the staff are very friendly. Being a hot day we opted for milkshakes and an iced chocolate and on a spur of the moment decision went for a slice of the Lemon myrtle chees cake and raspberry/strawberry cake.... More

Lady that took our order wouldn't smile and was plane rude to us then nice to the locals behind us. Would not go back.

We always have lunch here when traveling to the Northern Rivers. The food - sandwich which we have are excellent and reasonably priced - the coffee is good and we can sit out in the beer garden and which looks over the Clarence River.

I understand that sometimes people have bad days but if your job is customer service and you can't greet somebody with a simple hello or fake a smile instead of saying what do you want a moping around with rbf then maybe find a new job. Otherwise the location is really nice and the food came out quickly. The salmon... More

Had a couple of drinks before dinner on the banks of the mighty Clarence River. Had the t-bone which was excellent. Great salad and chips. Kids enjoyed their kids meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a very good evening. Will return.

Opening Hours Breakfast and Lunch 8.30am - 2.30 pm (7days) Dinner 6.00pm - 8.30pm Tues- Sat Outstanding Coffee This is a delightful cafe/restaurant that provides excellent low priced meals in a setting on the banks of the Clarence River. It is right beside the Pacific Highway and is an excellent break point for those driving the Sydney-Brisbane highway. We have eaten there twice in the past week and were most impressed. We think it should be better known, especially as the service is especially friendly.
