Travelling from Piombino to Florence and most eateries en-route appeared closed. Il Crapulone has a massive car park which was very busy. The exterior looks like a derelict building, but inside it was busy, busy hence all the cars outside. It’s a bit intimidating as...you enter, everyone looks local, and the restaurant has 3 different dining areas, so we thought it was full, until the waitress led us to a room at back. Massive pizza menu, but also salads, pasta etc, too. We opted for pizza, they have non-tomato pizzas (try the Robin Hood), both large, yummy and good value - €8 max. Waitress Simone was lovely, especially as she spoke no English and we don’t speak Italian.More

I was so happy with the restaurant: I have a wife and three children and was amazed at the friendliness of the staff, sure, we had to wait a bit for the food, but overall, the experience was great. We had to drag out the...kids screaming from the restaurant because they were having so much fun! and the food quality was good, I went there 5 times and with little and big groups and the quality of food was always awesome! Kudos!More

Had a great pizza there a few weeks ago. I've only ordered pizza when I go there so unfortunately that is all I can judge. I do think the prices are a little high, especially for pizza!

We are 4 Ausralian ladies visiting europe for a months holiday to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We stayed 5 nights in a beautiful villa about 1.5kms from this restaurant. With no car we walked to II crapulone for dinner, with the outside not looking that...inviting we were not sure what to expect. However once entering the restaurant we were made feel very welcome by the lovely staff, even though we could not speak italian and they not much english. Our meal of pizza and pasta was delicious along with some nice wine. Not wanting to walk home i spoke to the manager about trying to get a taxi, he imediately got on the phone but was unable to get one. He then handed his own car keys to another gentleman to take us back to our villa. We returned for another lunch and dinner during our stay and took home to australia fond memories of fantastic hospitality in this beautiful area of Tuscany. A big thankyou to the kind man who drove us home.More

Couldn't find the place we were looking for and as it was late stopped here for a meal. The building is a rather ugly modern building in a commercial area just off the road but they have done their best with the decor. Crostini shared...as a starter was an interesting selection then followed by pizzas which were very good. Seemed like a good wine selection but we didn't partake. For some reason we got 20% off the meal, (midweek special?). Not complaining. Would be an ideal stop with kids as they have an inside play area with bouncy castle. Perhaps not the spot for a romantic intimate meal but decent food nevertheless.More
