Actually I'd give it ten but that didn't quite work as a title... We arrived for lunch on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime and the pub soon filled up, proving its popularity. We were greeted by a charming waitress who was not the least robotic (see...More

Special venison dish for lunch was delicious. Wonderfully cooked and presented. However, it amounted to a few mouthfuls. Don't go there for lunch if hungry. Left us feeling hungry and cheated. Service was professional but robotic.

The food and service were excellent. Nothing very different about the choices on the menu, but the food was so much better than most pubs I've eaten in. I usually choose the home made pie and this one was really delicious, the vegetables nice and fresh...More

Lovely pub with rooms and a very friendly and attentive team. Breakfast is so good and a good choice for dinner (although my duck was a little chewy!) Great base from which to explore the local area - will definitely be back!
