What a great pub! This is what Britain does best. A country pub, with great pub food and brilliant service. I live in New Zealand and the pub is older that the country (inhabited). This would be great place to come summer or winter with the log fires crackling. We had a table in one of the open nooks which... More

Such a shame that the food here is so poor. Microwaved vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Terrible quality meat. Maybe its just the roasts - and we heard another couple complain about their meals. Could be an amazing spot but not with this food. All staff were excellent though and is a great spot for families and couples.

Thank you for your feedback, and I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn't match up to your expectations. We pride ourselves on sourcing quality fresh meat from Smithfield Market, but if it was not up to the standard you expected on this occasion, we would have been more than happy to replace your meal had we been made aware.... Just had a really great night at the White Bear. We all had the fillet steak which was cooked just as we asked. The real ales were in good condition whilst the service from Steph was top class. A really lovely night. Many thanks once again to Steph.

Had a wonderful evening with some friends. Away from the loud city. Relaxed and informal. Tasty food served by a smiling team of staff. Definitely worth it. Coming back for sure with my family.

Today, four couples met at The White Bear, Warlingham for lunch. One of the couples were Ex-Pat friends from near Malaga, Spain. The White Bear is a 16th Century stone built pub with a long bar serving a good range of cask and draught ales. The food and service was excellent. I had garlic mushrooms and beer battered haddock, which... More

Perfect garden to enjoy a good variety of beers. I imagine in the winter, the inside would be cozy and lovely. Food was high level pub food, with very big portions.

I spent a summers afternoon here with friends had a great time. Garden surrounds all of pub so plenty of choice of seats. I had the scampi and chips which I thoroughly recommend.

Have been to The White Bear a few times now and always enjoyed our visits, the beer is always good and so are the meals. Despite the miserable 'summer' weather I opted for a Ploughmans lunch at £9.95 as it was June. What a let down when it arrived - one semi-baguette cut up into five pieces, a smallish slab... More

Clean, friendly atmosphere with good food but a little on the pricey side. It has a Burger Shack in the garden which is nice but not great value for money.

The White Bear is a charming Grade II listed country inn dating back to the 16th century nestling between two farms in the tiny hamlet of Fickleshole, near Warlingham in Surrey. Located just five minutes away from Biggin Hill Airport and seven miles from central Croydon, The White Bear is a hidden gem known locally for its good food, real ales and tranquil rural surroundings. In the winter, we have three roaring log fires and candlelit tables, and in the summer you can soak up the sunshine in our large garden and terrace. We're perfectly situated at the heart of the North Downs for the many walkers, cyclists and horse riders who visit us, and there's a spacious car park too - so there's no excuse not to visit us. We look forward to seeing you soon.
