Enjoy the lovely large expanse of the outdoor garden in the summer. An outdoor 'posh' shed serves burgers & salads during weekends & some other days during the summer. Positioned high up the views are glorious on a beautiful sunny day. Inside The White Bear has a much darker feel with very dark wood the prominent feature. Has a cosy... More

Had high hopes of a good roast, as you would when you see this lovely looking old pub. The veg was rock hard and without being rube the meat, potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were certainly right from freezer. For £13 I expected more. When my sister brought up what she thought the bar man rolled his eyes and ignored her.... More

Wonderful old-world atmosphere in the outskirts of London. Step back in time when you enter this quaint, old-world pub. A variety of spacious rooms and tables to dine in surrounded by beautiful country side outdoor seating. Great food and good selection of beer and local ales. We love this pub and always enjoy our visits - alone or with friends!

Have been here several times before to have a meal or just a drink. The food is always delicious & there is a good variety on the menu. The staff are great too. Would always recommend for a relaxed meal out.

Friends and I ate here on Sunday. All four of us were very pleased with the food. Even though it was 7pm and had been very very busy our waitress was still smiling and happy. Our food was fresh and enjoyable. Have eaten here several times and always had a good meal.

My Husband and I went to the White Bear for the first time on his birthday. A friend had recommended it so we went for lunch. It was excellent. Great service, friendly staff and good food. I told them it was my Husband's birthday and they gave us a bottle of our choice of wines to take home. They also... More

Myself and my fiancé went to the white bear for an evening meal after deciding to give it another go after several disappointing visits. The food has always been very substandard. The pub itself is nice and in a lovely setting but the food disappointing to say the least. £12.95 for a sharing platter with ingredients quite honestly I could... More

I came across this pub when I took a wrong turn one day!! I was so glad I did, love love love it. The food the atmosphere, the service was all great. One tiny wee criticism, if you order fish ask for them to fillet it for you and save yourself the hassel. I recently had a birthday meal with... More

Description
The White Bear is a charming Grade II listed country inn dating back to the 16th century nestling between two farms in the tiny hamlet of Fickleshole, near Warlingham in Surrey. Located just five minutes away from Biggin Hill Airport and seven miles from central Croydon, The White Bear is a hidden gem known locally for its good food, real ales and tranquil rural surroundings. In the winter, we have three roaring log fires and candlelit tables, and in the summer you can soak up the sunshine in our large garden and terrace. We're perfectly situated at the heart of the North Downs for the many walkers, cyclists and horse riders who visit us, and there's a spacious car park too - so there's no excuse not to visit us. We look forward to seeing you soon.
