Went with family and friends for a Sunday dinner. We were welcomed by staff who were friendly and accommodating. The pub is quirky in a good way offering a good selection of beers and ciders. The Sunday dinner was excellent. I had the beef which...was cooked perfectly and was accompanied by a good selection of vegetables and a delicious cauliflower cheese. The staff were friendly, informed and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst eating we were lucky enough to have live music which only enhanced the experience. Great pub great staff and great food and drink. I will definitely be going back and thoroughly recommend worth booking to avoid disappointment.More

Managed to get a table without a booking early on a Saturday evening. The place is a lot bigger than it looks with a nice mix of quirky, cosy and light open spaces! Really loved the setting and the interesting things to look at. The...menu was varied with plenty of different vegan and vegetarian options. The prices are on the expensive side but worth it for good quality meals. The food was really tasty and the portions were huge. Even the focaccia was particularly good. We both enjoyed trying something we wouldn’t usually have (1 x sea bass and 1 x beetroot risotto). The dessert was delicious but I felt it was a little overpriced given the size - although this was all I really needed! The staff were friendly and helpful with my indecisiveness! Definitely recommend for a treat.More

This was our 2nd visit to the Sheppey and it did not disappoint. Me and my partner are both Vegan so with the Sheppey catering for vegans on the menu we was really happy. We both had the battered courgette flower with chips and mushy...peas. It was delicious. We have been coming to Glastonbury for many years and only recently discovered this hidden gem. The decor is quirky with lot's to look at and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We will definitely be returning and would maybe even like to stay a night or two at the Sheppey! :)More

The Levels is an extraordinary area and this is an extraordinary pub. It’s deliberately understated from the roadside approach which makes opening the door onto the interior all the more fun. On our visit the food and service was excellent. The main bar and eating...space is light and airy and interesting to sit in, lots of eclectic decor. Well worth a visit.More

As my total says I am visiting the sheppy a lot more recently due to finishing half day s and haven days off during the week, finding a pub open in the daytime in the his area is a momouth task Stunning location outside area back...on to the river varied food menu and drinks menu including cocktail mocktails and a very good selection off local cidars . As a local I find the local cidars are a bit over priced ,as I know how much their are sold for in other venue, but I expect this is a professional venue employing a lot more staff, definitely a place to chose for a special occasion. From my point off view as a cyclist and walker I'd love the option off a lunch time menu with bagettyes and oanni or ploughman lunchs but as the sheppy does so well I doubt the owners feal the nead to change the menu. More off a bistro then a pub but I'm always made welcome when I pop in for a cidar, definitely worth a vist if your visiting the areaMore

I hadn't visited The Sheppey (it was then The Rising Sun) in fifty years, and in those days it was, shall we say, a little rough around the edges. so i was very interested to return, which a group of us (three vegan and one...veggie) did last week. Greeted and then served with alacrity and charm, seated in their vast and extraordinary kind of boat-house-cum-art exhibition right on the meandering river from which it now takes its name, we enjoyed imaginative and tasty food brought to us by cheerful and efficient waiting staff. Already looking forward to a return!More

Went to The Sheppey for dinner last night, we have been numerous times over the years and always thought the food was very good. However the food seems to have gone downhill. Menu options sounded delicious, but in reality, we were all a bit disappointed....Very mediocre and a bit bland. Meals were expensive for what they were. I wouldn’t mind paying the price for flavoursome meals but really wasn’t worth it. Won’t be rushing back.More

It’s become something of a tradition for us to visit the Sheppey Inn when we are visiting Glastonbury. We arrived way to early and were very politely turned away, which was absolutely fine. We returned half hour later and were warmly welcomed and thanked for...being understanding. We only wanted a light lunch and both chose the chicken and chorizo burger, it came with chips, salad and slaw. Cooked from fresh in a lovely crispy bun it fitted the need perfectly. An icecream selection, few beers and mock tails later and we were replete. Nothings cheap these days but you don’t mind paying for quality food and service. We felt we got value for money so left happy once again. We would recommend booking, the few tables which weren’t reserved soon went!More

All our local relatives recommended this for a Friday Night supper and it was easy to see why. It was nicely full with locals merrily celebrating birthdays, couples and families. Interesting menu offered lots of interesting fare but we stuck with the signature fish stew....It was a hearty pot, full of generous chunks of fish, prawns and shellfish, served in a spicy, Spamish style tomato broth, with two hunks of local, soursough to mop up all the lovely juice. This left no room for anything else, other than some local beers and a carafe or two of zesty Portuguese white, which was nicely smokey to complement the food. Friendly service, lots of happy, relaxed people enjoying themselves. Our bill came to £70 for two plus service.More
