Absolutely amazing food in a small hotel in a small town. Wonderful value, as good as any michelin-starred restaurant. The waiters were also great. 3 amazing courses for €34 plus canapés with our pre-dinner drinks, an amuse-bouche and then a small post dessert petit four...plus cream mousse. Any time we are close by, we will return. All these courses were carefully balanced so one could enjoy every single morsel. The attention to detail was wonderful. We havent eaten that good a meal for years.More

We have visited this restaurant 4 times this year and unfortunately this will be our last visit. The first two were faultless, delicious food, pleasant ,knowledgeable staff and good value. On our third visit in August the price had gone up a little and the...quality and quantity had gone down but it was still a pleasant meal. Last night however there was very little to enjoy. Every course had been whittled down to the bare minimum of quantity and flavour. For example my main course of ‘poitrine de couchon’ consisted of 3 thumb sized pieces of pork, one tiny piece of crackling and was garnished with a few tasteless vegetables. The cheese board, on previous visits consisting of delicious artisan made cheeses was a further let down, 5 very small nibbles of generic tasting cheese with a little honey. Now for the ‘chocolate sphere’, I’m not even going to say how poor this was in comparison to our our first two visits earlier in the year. I’m afraid there wasn’t one positive to take from this experience, three diners and three very poor meals. What a shame, we won’t be backMore

This restaurant truly puts Thiviers on the gastronomic map. Four of us had an anniversary lunch today that was superb in imagination, taste, cooking and presentation. Lovely ambience and superb service.... we will be back!

Such a delightful evening. The food was full of flavour, beautifully presented. Portion sizes more than adequate. The amuse buche were sumptuous as were the desserts. The service was superb. The staff were warm, friendly polite and attentive. They missed nothing and before you could...ask for something, it had arrived. It is slightly more expensive than a day to day restaurant but worth every penny (centime). Highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely be backMore

We went back a couple of times for more delicious dishes. Foie gras and magret starters, slow cooked lamb, seasonal cèpes. Revisited chocolate and tarte tatin desserts. If you have special dietary requirements, the chef will do his best to accommodate you. We drank Mombasillac...and Gaillac. Very affordable for the quality. Friendly and efficient service. Thumbs up again.More

Thiviers is nice, not great, but nice. Having booked a stay nearby for a week, we found ourselves driving elsewhere for any form of entertainment. Having booked this restaurant prior to our trip, we were not expecting much. I don’t mean to demean what follows,...but the meal was very very good. Service was excellent and the food was both high quality and in adequate portions. We left surprised at just how good this place was and full enough to be content. I would go again if in the area and make a trip if nearby.More

Exquisite local food and wonderful service. What a gem to find, a 'must' if you are visiting Thiviers. Reasonable prices too for what is in our opinion Michelin star food! Very relaxed atmosphere and really helpful, lovely staff.

We enjoyed a beautiful meal here as a family with our young daughters aged 5 & 3 on a Wednesday night when most other restaurants in the area appeared to be closed. What a treat it was, the service and food were both fabulous and...the staff member assisted our limited french by providing an English menu. Highly recommend the restaurant, the garden was in full bloom as we sat outside on a summer's evening and the food that was served was a work of art and tasted magnificent.More

A must try if you’re in the area of Thiviers. This is a really charming with a wonderful a la carte menu. As it was lunch we went for the Rapide menu comprising a potato and trout gravalax, a delicious guinea fowl followed by a...sublime rice dessert. The best €16 I’ve spent in months!!! Try it!!!More

We went back again and tried new exciting dishes. Pressed beef and artichokes ravioli were great starters, followed by foie gras topped sirloin steak and pork fillet with puree. Their strawberry chocolate globe and cherry mousse were enchanting desserts, full of tasty surprises. We were...lucky enough with the weather and dined on the terrace. Great service as usual and very romantic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.More

I was around saint-Medard-d'Excideuil for my friend's wedding, before the day me and my boyfriend was looking around to eat as apparently the couples didn't plan anything with the guest. We found L'Escapde des Sens on TripAdvisor and it's shown here has a very good...comment. I can approve that my experience was amazing! The staffs were excellent friendly and helpful, the food from the Appetizer to dessert is just like a delightful symphony. there is 3 Appetizers, 1 main dish, and 2 desserts. The portion is very huge, especially we ordered Fois Gras with steak, is super huge, the meat is doughy and tender. The Dessert is pretty like art and tasty too. I highly recommended you visit this nice place if you around Thiviers. More
