We were so looking forward to dining at this restaurant as it had been a recommendation by our lovely hotel concierge but we think she must have visited on a more auspicious occasion or we were just incredibly unlucky. Although the outside terrace is quite...pretty there's no escaping the fact you are eating very close to a busy road but what made it worse was the fact that in full view are currently huge rolls of industrial galvanised wire and mounds of gravel used in road repairs. I don't know if this is temporary or not (there are road works not far away). Now to the menu - lots of items were not available. Sardines, risotto being two dishes we asked for. How can an Italian restaurant NOT have risotto for goodness sake? Looking at the menu lots of options had their prices blanked out because they were 'off'. The wine was OK (once it got to the right temperature as it was a bit too warm when originally served). The food itself was OK but nothing special to warrant an expensive taxi round trip from Vamos. The lady serving was pleasant and efficient. All in all very disappointingMore

Very good Italian restaurant, quality fresh food and a very cozy atmosphere. Service is polite, friendly and respects COVID-19 restrictions. Besides the regular menu they have ''day dishes'' that I believe are the most interesting and tasty choice. A must visit if you are near...the area.More

Great place and excellent food. As it was our first time, we should have been told the pasta portions were for 2 people!

You know you're going to spend more here than your average taverna but it's so worth it. The food is fresh, delicious and authentic (Italian) and the portions are very generous.

The restaurant yard is perfect. Great atmosphere. Although almost 1/3 of the Menu wasn’t available tonight, the rest of the food was fabulous If you’re on your way to chania, I recommend you to stop by this restaurant

We were here two years ago and again, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, great quality food and great service. The staff even remembered us from our last visit. This is probably the best restaurant on the island.

This is a great restaurant off the beaten track and at first you wonder what it will be like, but the service is wonderful, the waiters all Italian and the chef is renowned in Chania for being the best Pasta maker and he really is....Superb pasta and other Italian dishes.More

Next to the main highway, just outside Souda, but easy to miss if you're not local or equipped with google maps as it lies obscured by trees, bushes and the sence that there is not a soul for miles (especially if you're driving in the...middle of the night). the food is exceptional and so is the service. First time I visited this place was 7 years ago and I'm glad the quality remains unchanged!More

best italian (Sicilian) food in Chania, pasta is very good (ask to be "al dente" if you are a real pasta lover), amazing olive oil and wine, friendly service. Last but not least very good beef tagliata.

A fantastic bona-fide Italian, in an unlikely location. Main attraction are the pasta dishes, each served in its own pan, a monster portion (advize to sample and share among friends). Seared tuna and steamed mussels are excellent (if available). Head waitress is great, runs the...whole floor, but her help needs retraining... a shame, as it derails a truly excellent dining experience.More

If you feel like an escape from the informality of most of the restaurants in the Chania area try Don Rosario. The atmosphere is casual but somehow rather special. The service is friendly and very efficient. The food is exceptional, I enjoyed the best Caprese...salad that I have ever had. The portions tend to be substantial so I would recommend that you share and order more if you need it. The wines are very good and sensibly priced. I am really looking forward to my next visit.More

We went here on our last night in Crete, the service was excellent and the food fantastic. The complementary bruschetta was probably the best I have ever had. Not a huge selection of vegetarian options which could be a problem if you dont eat mushrooms...as there were only a couple of choices but I would highly recommend the spinach and rocotta ravioli. We weren't rushed at all even though the place was full. Thanks to the complimentary starter and dessert it made for a reasonably priced meal, despite my husband's main being 17 Euros off the specials menu! He did say it was worth the money though! I would definitely recommend and return.More
