We had a nice dinner, the food was ok and red wine house was not good enough especially for the area but this is probably also due to the promo price. Probably need to order more expensive and better quality wine. Service was very good
Is it getting a bit tired? Or perhaps its end of season fatigue.
A huge presentation of wines from across the area provide the unusual setting for this bistro style restaurant among the vines. It's a gorgeous sort of place and the service and food...are ok.
Very quiet when we went, perhaps because others think the old magic is a bit dulled, too.More

Thank you for you comment. It's important for us.
I last reviewed this restaurant 5 years ago and have revisited with friends & family several times since. However, on this latest occasion, we booked in on a Saturday lunch time and were surprised to find how empty it was. We were soon to discover...why this was the case.
The set menu has increased in price but the quality of food has gone down hugely. Nothing wrong with my starter, but the veal steak was...tasteless and chewy! I was so surprised as past visits have been excellent. Also my wife had the fish which she described as overcooked and "ordinary". Our grown up children had the steaks they were looking forward to (as they had had them many times in the past) and not only was one of them so overcooked that it had to be sent back (with some reluctance by the waitress) but that too was tough when it came back. I tried them both.
Overall a very disappointing visit and it is unlikely that we will return which is a shame as it had always ben so consistent in the past.More

Really confortbablenplace with niicenoutdoorcarea and attractive indoor eating area. Excellent value lunch menu, just be careful as to ordering wine as we ended up paying a bit more than we initially intended but it was our mistake. Wine was very good however! If youbarecstaying locally...there is a useful little shop attached to premises and smart bar / cafe area attached too. Worth a drive to.More

Thank you very much for our message.
It's important for us.
Fantastic place. We were seated amongst crates of local wine. Just like sitting in a wine cellar. The food was excellent, we had entrecote and cheese as dessert.
When we visited on a Friday evening, there was a local three-man band playing. Excellent entertainment. Very...friendly, english speaking waiters.
To be recommended!More

We were stuck for choice - all the other restaurants in the area were shut for the day. Searching TA we found this one was open. Sat outside on a sunny day and had decent, if not exciting lunch. My steak was pretty well cooked...and the children's food plentiful. The restaurant is attached to a wine cellar so the choice of wine is excellent.More
Recommended by a close family member during our recent , very good vacation in the area.
Wanted a vegetarian meal for my wife ,some where new, we haven't been to before.
Staff a touch slow in attending to our arrival , table was booked, outside....The lady spent must of her time talking to other guests even knowing we had been sitting there of approx 15mins. Table booked for 1930hrs.
There is no " great " view from outside, you look at the road, car park or the building . Inside looks very good and obviously had a lot of thought and investment.
Menu limited , my wife had the mixed fish main course and was disappointed, she just picked at it. My meat dish , steak , was red/ raw inside and burnt on the outside. Now to be fair I like my steaks well done, with a brown inside. The other waitress, I understand is also a co owner , did question me re my request for a well done steak, quote " that will ruin the meat and it's not the way we recommend in this restaurant " . So I have had better cooked steaks.
At one stage , before we ordered our drinks , we discussed leaving and going some where else. In hindsight, we should have done.More

I'm sorry your dinner in our restaurant did not please you.
We make daily efforts to satisfy our customers but we do not always succeed.
Indeed, our terrace is located at the edge of a road and near a parking lot, but I...More
It is both a restaurant and wine shop. You can pick a bottle and they will open it for you to have with lunch/dinner.
Plenty of great local wines to choose from and both food and wine were very reasonably priced.
It is family friendly...but not a huge selection of food to choose from for children, and it is not the place for a quick dinner.
Staff are very friendly and it is a very relaxed atmosphere.
Not sure how many local residents dine here because the restaurant seemed to be full of tourists. (Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation).More

Thank you for your message, it's very important for us.
You have dinner at the Comptoir an unusual day (specialy in august), because in the other months, our clientele is 80% localI !...
My husband and I visited this restaurant on our last evening in France.
It was quite an unusual design concept, with boxes of wine interspersed with tables.
However, service was good and our food was delicious.
See photos of our starters: lovely home made fresh...duck roll and beetroot soup.
