We loved this place. The rooms were excellent value - welcoming and clean, with quality fixtures and fittings and a cosy feel. The beds were gorgeously comfortable - obviously no expense was spared on the mattresses. Breakfast was generous and dinner was really delicious, both...More

Nice old pub which concentrates on food, good choice menu and fast efficient service. We were there midweek in the Winter so it was fairly quiet

Have checked with the manager to see what went wrong here. His version was that he politely acknowledged your presence and explained that he had to finish his orders but would be with you quickly. You came in on New Years Eve we had 70...More

Ate at George Nov 27th. Menu said a discretionary charge of 12.5% will automatically be charged on the bill. So what does discretionary mean? At point of payment no reference made to a standard met or our opinion of the lunch presented. Not impressed.More
