We found a cab driver to take us to and around Westpunt all day. When we asked him for something good and local, he took us to Jaanchies. It was about 3 p.m. and we walked right in around several other groups. There was a band serenading each table, the decor had a lot of character and we could already... More

As we expected, Jaanchies met our expectations, its nothing glamorous and the service is average, but that's part of the experience. From the walking menu Jaanchie himself, telling us what they had in the kitchen that day, to the local treats, like iguana, it was a nice experience. A nice complimentary ice cream in the rocking chairs just aside from... More

We greatly enjoyed the lunch we had at Jaanchies. We sat by the bird atrium and enjoyed watching them while we ate. Wonderful service including Jaanchie explaining the menu of the day to each table. The pricing is per person. Try the iguana! Banana ice cream was yummy.

"Walking" menu as someone else commented with no prices. Sticker shock when we saw the bill for a meal I wouldn't have paid $10 for in the States. I had fish that was bland, old and so overcooked it got stuck in my teeth and hurt! Worthless iceburg lettuce salad with no dressing. Caribbean rice and beans was okay, kinda... More

We loved eating at this place. Sat right by the birds, which added to the overall experience. I love that the owner comes and sits at your table and verbally tells you what is on the menu that day. My kind of local joint! Food was delicious, fresh and the iguana stew was very good. Beware of the little bones,... More

There is a lot already said about the fact there is no menu and the owner comes ot your table and explains what can be served. The food is ok, nothing special and sets you back by 22$ per person, kind of fix price! We had mero, shrimp and friend "conk". The desert was a nice coconut ice cream. Independently... More

We stopped here before heading to the beach and were not disappointed. We tried the goat stew with a side of iguana (be wary of bones) and the food was so flavorful. Be ready to spend some time there, though, especially if it's busy.

This is definitely a unique dining experience - no touristy at all! The menu is not printed but rather a "walking" menu (by Jaanchie himself). We tried the iguana (not our favorite) and seafood meals. The portions are moderate. The restaurant is open air style with birds and other wildlife for your viewing. We were a little price shocked when... More

Lovely hospitality interesting ambiance and large portions of food. Very little flavor on one of the dishes except for the banana ice cream brought at the end of the meal. Very expensive for 2 meals.

Jaanchie's for fresh seafood, especially the fish. Attentive & personal service, a lot of food, and they have a talking menu. (Jaanchie himself).
