As we were staying in the Nottingham area for a few days, my husband researched potential restaurants because we have exacting standards and like something a bit different. This restaurant certainly lived up to its excellent rating on Trip Advisor; our experience was superb from start to finish. This is an unpretentious restaurant with excellent Vegan food and wonderful service... More

This is the third time we have visited this year and the menu didn't fail to disappoint. Do not be put off by the fact this is a vegetarian restaurant, the food is to die for and will have meat lovers such as my partner begging to visit again. The menu changes monthly and is always varied. We had the... More

We booked a 6pm table and, on a busy Friday night, we had over two hours of relaxed dining experience. Our party consisted of two vegetarians, one of whom is gluten intolerant, and two carnivores. We were all blown away by the flavours and quality of the vegetarian food here. We hadn't intended to have three courses but were so... More

I am a vegetarian who gets a bit annoyed by dippy hippy places. This is not as bad as some. Food good. My gado gado peanut sauce was a little sweet for me. But that's just personal taste. My non vegetarian husband liked his chickpea escalope. I need to visit again to be sure but seemed worth another try

The food here is wonderful. Spoilt for choice with a great menu that provides a feast for the tastebuds & looks great too. Haloumi fritters highly recommended. Ditto creamy curry & aubergine main course. Lovely ice cream, though I expected the brownie to be more chocolatey. Probably my fault for not reading the menu properly. Great beers from Springhead brewery... More

Amazing food, great portion sizes and the flavours are just Wow! I recommend that you book to be sure of getting a table as it was full on a Wednesday night when we went. Well located near to Nottingham university and tram stops.

Since discovering cafe roya and it's incredibly amazing flavoursome food, variety and excellent service, I literally have it in my diary to check the menu change at the start of each new month. Every month does not disappoint! I cannot emphasise how one must not be put off by this being a vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Every meat eating person... More

Went here last night with two friends for the first time; it was the best meal I've had in ages. The service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. None of us are vegetarians but we all said we wouldn't ever miss meat if we ate like this every day. Every mouthful gave us different flavours and spices. A wonderful... More
