I can't praise Roya and her staff enough for the time and effort they put into making my wife's surprise 50th birthday celebrations go so well. The food was delicious, service attentive and the extra touches really great. We ate in one of the upper rooms and the atmosphere the food and staff helped create made the evening. I would... More

Great veggie food everyone can love even if you are a meaty like me. Small menu but everything we had was super tasty. Not a cheap place, £25 a head including wine, but well worth it.

As a hardcore carnivore, I was skeptical. We went here for my girlfriend's birthday and it was wonderful. The food was great, had a hard time choosing between the menu and the specials. The service was attentive and very friendly. The venue is lovely and the tables are nicely laid out to create just the right amount of distance from... More

A birthday celebration, so a very pleasant evening. Granddaughter is vegetarian. So an ideal choice for her as she can safely chose anything. Not actually my favourite food, but all the rest of the family really enjoyed their meal, if I remember we all had the evening's special which was 'meat balls' with pickle, ratio and very spivey sauce. Staff... More

Have been to Cafe Roya regularly over the past couple of years. The menu changes every month. There's always an unusual "curry-type" dish which is invariably fabulous - often a style that would be difficult to find in regular Indian restaurants. October's curry dish is a Sri Lankan recipe of stuffed capsicum which is delicious. But where Roya excels is... More

Simply delicious! The food is imaginative and varied, and the staff are knowledgeable and receptive to your needs and preferences. Its an excellent little place - my partner and I didn't want to leave!

We were seated in the corridor at the top of the stairs, which never bodes well. With people brushing past up up and down the whole time. I ordered the special which was Persian Stew. It read as if it was going to delight the senses on the Specials board. Which was all read to us whilst we were still... More

An incredible meal (pancakes for starter and the filled capsicum) . Beautifully presented, balanced flavours that last on your palate, new combinations and served with a smile. It has been a while since we last visited due to time commitments and trying out other establishments. We left wondering why we had left it so long since the last time. As... More

Finally dragged my passionately carnivorous other half here as we were going out with vegetarian friends. I've been several times before and been delighted by the tasty, well presented food with a middle Eastern/ Mediterranean feel. After a Persian dips starter, we enjoyed peppers stuffed with a cashew curry and huge herby portobello mushrooms. Delicious. Even the meat monster said... More
