We had dinner at the Swan during our Hadrian's Wall trek, we were overnighting in Heddon. The food was quite good with a wide variety on offer with vegetarian options as well, going from traditional pub fare to more inventive dishes. We were very happy with our meals and the other customers around us seemed to be as well. There... More

As a regular diner in the badger( ponteland) & falcons nest(gosforth park) I was expecting the same cosy atmosphere & excellent food. Really disappointed. The pub ambience was lacking, probably down to the large rooms. We ordered fish & chips & roast chicken. The pub was very quiet but we waited a long time for our food. Crispy batter at either... After visiting the North East we decided to pop into The Swan for what we thought was a carvery. We haven't visited for a few years and were happily surprised by the changes that had taken place. On entering we asked if they had carvery on offer and a delightful lady said they didn't although they still offered Sunday lunch.... More

Not having been there for years, four of us decided to try this refurbished restaurant. for lunch. We loved the new interior and found the staff pleasant and welcoming. As others have said, the views are stunning.. We each chose something different from the menu, my choice was the steak and mushroom pie. It looked very appetising when it arrived,... More

The Swan has been recently re-furbished and is under new management. It has stunning views to the rear of the wonderful Countryside, and is a great place for a drink or a meal. The menu is extensive and the food excellent….my seafood risotto was delicious! Our server, Ben, was friendly and efficient. The Swan is definitely worth a visit!

We regularly came here many many years ago but hadn't been for decades., so we were very interested to see the refurbished restaurant etc. The decor was good, a huge improvement, seating arrangements were spacious but cosy, even for a larger party. The staff were pleasant and very helpful but the speed of service needs to be improved -we arrived... More

Travelled to the Swan for a farewell family meal for my niece who is off to Australia shortly. It was a little chilly as the boiler had gone off, but the staff did apologise for that and offered to move us near the fire but we opted to stay on the round table. They said that if we still felt... More
