On holiday nearby and read reviews of Three Wheat Heads. We all had different meals on both occasions so able to give a range of comments. Food: good quality in meat, fish and veggie options. Very well cooked and presented. Hot and tasty, value for money. Only comment was that the vegetables served with sea bass and bream suited a... More

We were delightfully surprised by the quality of the food and the service at this hotel, which were well above normal "pub" standard. The restaurant has a wonderful view of the nearby countryside and is a very pleasant spot to enjoy an evening meal

Book first (it's popular because it's good!) and go early because parking could be problematical, especially in the evenings. The garden has views over spectacular countryside. When we went they were short of one of their chefs, but the staff managed superbly and worked their socks off to maintain excellent service and great food. An object lesson in how to manage a... We were driving through Thropton and stopped on the offchance of getting a meal. Whilst the restaurant was fully booked we were squeezed in by a jovial landlord. My wife ordered a Venison steak and I Liver and Bacon. The food was superbly cooked and of top notch quality. This was without a doubt one of the best meals in... More

Went for Dinner at this Bar/Restaurant and was warmly welcomed. Very Good menu and very friendly helpful staff. Lovely views from the restaurant and if it had been sunny the beer garden looked very inviting except for some scaffolding in place whilst repairs are taking place. Go and enjoy

This is a very popular pub in a small village serving a large range of food at very reasonable prices. The views from the large windows of the main dining room are fantastic, as the Pope overlooks the beautiful Coquett Valley. The food is freshly cooked, there is a carvery and an extensive vegetarian selection, which is unusual, especially in... More

We had a lovely meal while staying locally on holiday. All the staff are very friendly and efficient creating a relaxed atmosphere. There was a choice of three real ales which were all lovely. The menu provided lots of choice for everyone including a whole page of vegetarian options. The food was delicious and well portioned. The view from the... More

Lovely food, extensive menu. The salmon main and the seabass and seabream are great. The deserts were amazing, I'd recommend the sticky toffee pudding and banoffee pie. Good value, £55 for two people having 3 courses, couple of beers and soft drinks.
