After a long walk we always treat ourselves to a much deserved pub lunch. Unfortunately on this occasion the pub lunch was far from being a treatis and should be avoided.... ordering a baguette filled with cheese and ham in the heart of yorkshire the least I expect is yorkshire ham and cheese, not cheep processed ham squares with grated... We pop into this pub in North Yorkshire with our wee dog, Molly and the food we receive is lovely and there is plenty of it too. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We shall definitely visit this charming village inn time and again as the value for money is excellent.

We called in on Mothering Sunday just for a light bite. We both had a prawn baguette and drink. Nicely served and very good value for money. It was a glorious day so we sat outside with our two dogs. They were offered water and dog biscuits. Landlord and lady very friendly and the dogs were welcomed too.

We visited the Crown on 21st Oct, looking for a hearty meal after our long journey. We received a super warm welcome & was far from disappointed with our meal, which was delicious. We found the locals, the staff & the landlord & lady happy & chatty. What a lovely village pub. Thank you

We were just passing so dropped in for a pint and a snack. There were four of us and all ordered a different toasty. One was acceptable but the other three were poor. The only saving grace was that there was a nice pint on tap. Dogs allowed but not in the restaurant. Friendly hosts, even got a free chew... More

We are very sorry the toasties were not to your liking, if you could let us know the date and rough time of your visit I will be able to investigate this further. We saw this place as we were passing on our way back to Masham and thought it looked nice, so we made our way back over on the evening to eat. The menu choices were a little limited but we found something we wanted. There weren't many people in and were the only ones eating at that time so the... More
