Very welcoming and accommodating. Limited menu but beautifully presented and nice tasting food. Love the decor, little details like the bar looking like a tram, beer mats in little wooden boxes on the tables, simple metal bar stools. Glorious open fire.

Popped in while waiting for electric train. Had choice of Okells bitter, Okells MPA and Hobgoblin had Hobgoblin nice pint. Sat outside in new garden area. Watched Snaefell rail trains. Good sandwich and friendly staff.

Trudged back from the wheel in the pouring rain. Absolutely sodden. Felt embarrassed about going in really. Should not have worried. Fire stoked up for us, chairs made available to hang wet coats on,excellent pints pulled and good sandwiches provided. This is not a haute cuisine restaurant but it is a lovely friendly pub. 10 out of 10 for hospitality... More

After visiting the Laxey Wheel we stopped off at Mines Tavern for a welcome drink. It has recently been refurbished and the kitchens were only recently fitted out. The menu looked good.

Hmm. The Mines Tavern is my local. It is alright. The menu is not vast and it mainly serves cold food, last time I checked... If you are after a quick and quiet pint and moving on then it is ideal. If you are looking for a hot meal then you are probably gonna have a better chance going to... More

A relative was visiting us on the Island from England after having been here a number of years ago. He remembered enjoying a meal at the Mines Tavern on that occasion and wanted to try there again. It was not a good experience this time. We had a ham sandwich each which cost £6.50 per person. There was very little... More

Nice looking pub, great outdoor eating area. End of positives for our visit. Waited forever to order food for our group of eight. Sat outside and waited and waited and waited for it to arrive...you get the idea. We were patient because we have family in the service industry but we waited well over an hour. Had two pints while... More

We got off the Electric Train at Laxey and this was just ip from the station so thought it rude not to visit. Clean and good atmosphere and great choice of beers and ciders.
