While staying at the adjacent camping site, we went to the Maison Rouge twice. The food is actually very good - upper level french maritime cuisine. We had lobster the first time and fish the second. Both meals were excellent, fresh and well presented. We had our little baby with us and they had baby chairs and toys. The view... More

Visited once during our camping stay at Anse du Brick. Treated it as a treat for us. It lived up to expectations with excellent food and wine, but it is quite expensive, just as well the pound is doing well against the Euro! Ate from the menu of the day which had plenty of choice and included a cocktail. The... More

Had been recommended this restaurant - a starter of seafood which left us with high expectations only to be left with a sad main course - on the plus side a good wine list 👍🏻

The staff is very helpfull and attentive to your needs. The food is good but i found that the menu had too many complicated dishes with a sweet touch to it. My husband took the asparagus starter and found it too mushy, it's parmesan tuile was chewy not crunchy and the under biscuit was gooey. My dish consisting of andouille... More

Have dined here before and had a wonderful experience but not this time. Three of us arrived for lunch two had the more expensive menu and the third plat du jour. Staff all very young inexperienced and provided adequate but not welcoming service. My starter was very good as was the other two diners starters. My main meal of salmon... More

Having visited and stayed at the campsite a few times now but having never eaten at La Maison Rouge, we took the plunge one June evening. Have to say was thoroughly impressed throughout. I booked during the day and was given prime position with a view of sunset. The food was brilliant, both my wife and I were really impressed... More

Stayed at the campsite next door, which by the way is also great. Overlooking the sea, a smart and well run restaurant. Had a mixture of dishes, all were nice with the waiting staff very helpful with our bad French. Would recommend, not a cheap meal, but definitely high quality

Whilst staying near Barfleur, we were recommended to dine at La Maison Rouge and I called them to reserve a table. The location is lovely, with the restaurant set on a hillside overlooking a picturesque bay. The welcome we received from a young member of staff, however, was markedly less than friendly. When I asked for a table by the... More

Beautiful rare opportunity to have a night out just the two of us when camping but friends had ours one night, us theirs the next. And so glad we did. The most beautiful setting overlooking the sea. I had the foie gras pate to start which was delicious and hubby had the seafood platter which was huge and such good... More
