Made several visits to the Partridge when we were recently in Bromley. This used to be my ' Local ' when living in the area and it was nice to be back. Enjoyed the range of beers as well as a snack a Lunchtime. Service always good , except for Staff who were there on Wednesday 26th July , who showed a lack of customer service skills ( Please note ! ) towards a group of friends who joined me for a drink that evening. The only blemish, fortunately , in thousands of visits , so suffice to say I will return when next in the area.

First night out for an indoor meal since latest lockdown, great pub serving good food, not so many food choices but something for everyone. We were seated at the rear of the pub, tables socially distanced and all staff wearing masks and tables wiped down . We had a couple of drinks then ordered food, food arrived promptly, well presented. I had the fish and chips, on the menu it came with triple fried chips but sadly my chips appeared oven cooked and not crispy at all. Overall it was a good night in a comfortable setting in a great traditional pub. I am hoping they will put the fish pie back on the menu as it is really gorgeous

The Partridge is located at the end of Bromley high street. It is a good old fashioned pub. The place was clean and the staff served you with a smile. We didn't eat here but the food which came out of the kitchen looked lovely. A great friendly pub worth a visit.

After a long day shopping in Bromley, my friend and I were looking forward to some fish and chips and decided to check out The Partridge Pub. This was actually my first time inside, despite having lived in Bromley my whole life, and I was excited to finally try it. We even went as far as asking one of the younger staff members for her honest opinion about their fish and chips. She hadn’t tried it herself but told us it had good reviews, which reassured us that we’d made a solid choice.
Once seated, my friend and I began checking out the menu, debating on whether to add a starter or maybe even a dessert. Just as we were getting comfortable, an older man from the staff abruptly approached us with zero greeting or warmth and, without any pleasantries, bluntly asked, “Do you two have ID?” The lack of any kind of courtesy caught us off guard right away. There was no “Hello” or “How are you”—just a cold question about ID.
I politely explained that I didn’t have my physical ID with me, but I could show him a photo of it, since I am 25. My friend, who is 28, had her passport, which was only expired by a week. Instead of offering any understanding, he immediately shut us down, saying he wouldn’t accept it. His tone was dismissive and even slightly aggressive, which made the situation feel needlessly confrontational.
We were taken aback because we hadn’t even walked up to the bar yet and had no plans to order any alcohol—we were there simply to enjoy a meal. This detail seemed to make no difference to him, as he seemed unwilling to listen or show any understanding whatsoever. After a few awkward exchanges, it was clear he wasn’t interested in accommodating us, so we decided to leave.
This whole encounter left a really sour taste, and we ended up feeling as though we weren’t welcome. It’s sad, especially when so many pubs are built on warm hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for customers, whether they’re regulars or new faces. The Partridge Pub unfortunately fell short in every way when it came to customer service.
It’s unfortunate that such a promising evening ended in such a disappointing way. If this is the level of service they offer to potential new customers, I can’t imagine recommending The Partridge to anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable experience. We ended up going elsewhere and having a lovely meal, but it’s a shame that we had to go through this negative experience first.

Recently, our group of ten gathered to celebrate the holiday season. We brought together friends from Ireland, Thailand, and Canada, all in their mid-forties to fifties, along with my friend’s son, who will be turning 21 next June and stands at an impressive 6 feet 3 inches tall, of Thai descent. We started our evening at The Artful Duke and headed to The Partridge, enticed by their live music starting at 9 PM. Arriving at 8:45 PM, we were full of anticipation for a wonderful night ahead. As we approached the bar to order our first round, we were surprised when the barmaid asked my friend’s son for identification. Given his stature and our numerous outings together in Bromley and London, this request felt unusual. After he presented his ID, the barmaid initially accepted it and began serving our drinks. As the band kicked off their performance, the barmaid approached us again, stating that my friend’s son must leave due to a policy prohibiting under-21s from being in the venue after 9 PM. We kindly requested that she show some Christmas spirit and reconsider, but she firmly reiterated the company policy, leaving little room for discussion. When we asked why this policy wasn’t mentioned earlier, she shrugged her shoulders and repeated the same reasoning. Just as he was about to exit, his father managed to speak with the manager, who was understanding and permitted him to stay. Unfortunately, the earlier incident had already made him feel uncomfortable, so we decided to leave and went to the Railway to continue our celebrations.
This experience raised some important questions for me.
Why did the barmaid feel compelled to adhere so strictly to the policy without considering the circumstances?
It’s concerning to see establishments like The Partridge, which are already facing challenges due to the cost of living, miss opportunities to create positive experiences for their patrons.
I believe that even small acts of kindness and discretion could greatly enhance the atmosphere, especially during the festive season.

Went with my family this evening for dinner. My wife and elder son (15) were seated and when I turned up with my 11 year old I was told that children weren’t allowed in! Quite repetitively… I interrupted the bar tender to say yes I understand I just want to find my wife so we could leave.
Hence the rating. Also I suggest that if children are not allowed you should take the children’s menu off. Bit pointless really

We came into the partridge on 23rd September 2023. Had a bottle of red, a tea. Then 2x A Spritz and a Rum and coke. We were a party of three in our 40’s. The lady in our party is a light weight, and when she went to the bar she got refused. So one of us went up instead to get her some water, I was drinking tea, and wanted blackcurrant and lemonade. However I was refused. This is both irresponsible of the pub, one not giving water and two not serving me, non alcoholic drinks. We went there for the band but, the lady on the bar ran up the bar to the man serving me and said don’t serve them the lady needs to go home. Won’t be coming back here again, you should be ashamed!!!

I had a great high ceiling head room, real ale experience.
It is an old fashioned ,well run pub.
No screaming children, good beer, including one of my faves Fullers ESB.
A really good place to have pre - theatre or whatever grown up drinks!
Polite and, apparently, genuinely helpful staff.
Great for shopping break etc.
Love the place. Live music some nights too! Great!
In my view, the best pub in Bromley with a good food menu.
H of the World.

It was absolutely freezing this evening 🥶brrr with all doors open for COVID restrictions….
Always enjoy everything

The first time I‘ve been back since the close down - very impressed. Full table service, tables spaced out, staff friendly as ever. Felt very safe eating in the pub. Had a great pie for lunch - as good as ever! This is one pub I’m very happy to see reopen.

The Partridge was my ' local ' when I lived in Bromley , so it was really nice to return there ( several times ! ) during a recent return visit. Very good Covid protocols are in place and the Staff were as friendly and efficient as ever. Had a few drinks on my numerous visits and it was really good to relax in comfortable surroundings. The Food looks good , although we did not eat there. I miss the Partridge following my move out of the Bromley area , but it will still be on the top of my list for the next stay in the locality. It is still an excellent Pub !

Having been to The Partidge previously with friends and having enjoyed it very much, I was pleased to be able to take my daughters there for lunch. It is a lovely building, inside and out with a good atmosphere, plus the staff are always friendly and very pleasant. The menu is excellent, proper food and what I have had has always been delicious. It was served quite quickly and as I expected, it was lovely. My daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed both our food and time in The Partridge and hopefully will be going again when we can all get together. We all totally recommend The Partridge pub in Bromley

Nice old school pub with decent food and great live music. Most staff friendly but there’s one that seems like he’s rather be somewhere else!
