Myself and wife where in the area and felt peckish for a late lunch. The pub is very well set up for Covid and the staff have got their act together. Gammon steak and burger was our choice. Excellent. Couldn’t have done anything better. Good...drop of HSB beer. Keep it up.More

Thank you very much for the review Duncan. It was lovely to read that you enjoyed your meal with us, and (of course) a great pint of HSB. We hope to see you both soon. Best wishes

Visited the pub last night for a few drinks with some friends, it was always a regular place for us before Covid. The pub and the staff are doing an incredible job throughout all of this, you’re made to feel comfortable and safe from the...second you walk through the door. Would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning for more.More

Must say, first time here since Covid raised its ugly head and I was incredibly impressed by what the staff have done, so much to say it is clearly the safest I have felt at an establishment. Excellent system, good distancing, prompt cleaning after customers...and stickler for the rules - perfect! We only came for drinks - which arrived promptly once ordered. Staff were friendly when we encountered them. Well done to the team!More

We were greeted at the door and asked how many were in our party, completed track and trace and shown to a table in the garden. So far so good. Ordering food was completed on an app which was simple, the problem came with the...cost of the food. There were no bar snacks or sandwiches available, we were not told this when we arrived, and ended up ordering Welsh rarebit, and some houlimi strips. When the food arrived there was two strips of houlimi and just one slice of toast for the Welsh rarebit. Each portion was £6.50 which for the portion size is expensive. Drinks were expensive too a half a pint of squash was £2.50 and a pint of lager £5. Whilst the location is nice the cost of food and portion size really let this pub down. It’s not Michelin starred but a local pub that my family and I won’t visit again solely due to the priceMore

Thank you for your constructive comments. We do offer bar snacks throughout the week; however, we do not offer sandwiches on Sundays. Since re-opening we have been constantly developing our menu, with freshly (locally produced) ingredients. Your comments, with regards to pricing, has been noted....More

Great friendly atmosphere at this pub with good COVID precautions. We felt very safe while here. The online ordering app works really well. Big positive is the friendly and helpful staff. Even helped us find change for car parking. Would highly recommend a visit.

Great pub, great garden and lovely room to the side of entertainment. Regularly have different bands playing, which creates a great atmosphere.

The organisation involved in creating such a pleasurable Dining experience for my husband and I and our 4 children was second to none. What a lovely dinner with the best vegan curry I've had in a restaurant!

We had met up with friends who live in the north of England and we called on the off chance that they could fit us in for a meal at a busy time due to ‘Eat out to help out’. The staff couldn’t have been...more helpful and moved things around to accommodate us. All the staff were extremely helpful and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back. It’s a 10/10 from us.More

Advise you ring to find out. There are 2 areas to eat . One more formal and the other in the bar area. I'm guessing you might still be able to take digs into bar area even in evenings but check.
