Visited La Turka for a Sunday Roast - I don’t normally have a Sunday Roast when I go out as prefer to cook my own - but this was worth every penny. We all had Roast Chicken and it was delicious, roast potatoes, veg, Yorkshire pud, stuffing and lashings of gravy.
Definitely worth a visit!

Just been for a gorgeous meal for my daughters 9th birthday and had such a wonderful afternoon! We went as a family of 6,3 adults, 1 teenager and 2 kids and all really enjoyed our food. Staff were very attentive, atmosphere was relaxed as food was delicious. Staff were especially welcoming to the kids, speaking to them individually and as my daughter was wearing a birthday badge they went out of their way to make a fuss of her, surprising her with the most delicious (and enormous) chocolate cake covered with oreas, marshmallows and a candle and all stood around to sing and clap to her! I would highly recommend this restaurant (and the garlic & chilli King prawns đź‘Ś)

The staff at La Turka we’re kind enough to accommodate a last-minute booking for two. We were seated by the window, a spot for people-watching, and thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant’s bustling atmosphere. All servers were efficient and very welcoming, especially Ibrahim, who had a constant smile on his face! Our order was taken very quickly, and the drinks and food came out in no time. I ordered the La Turka chicken, which was exactly what I wanted - plain chicken, plain rice, and plain steamed veg with a warm, homemade tomato sauce for dipping. The portion size was generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the tomato sauce was so delicious. My boyfriend really enjoyed his skewered lamb. His dish also arrived in a large portion, there was ample lamb, and he loved the tsatskiki and chilli sauce combo. There is so much more that we could’ve tried from the menu (it is very extensive), but we made good choices. Including a coke and tap water, the bill was only £37, which we were more than happy to pay given the quality and quantity of food that we were served, the outstanding service that we received, and the buzzing atmosphere in the restaurant. We returned only a couple weeks later, and will definitely be going back to try even more things from the menu! Highly recommended!

Came for a birthday night out with friends, based on past TA reviews and our online view of the menu. Has both inside and outside seating, which is no more than a sectioned part of the pavement on a busy main road, so went for inside. First impressions favourable, nice decor, airy on an especially warm evening. Fairly prompt attention for both our drinks and food orders. As both my wife and myself are great lovers of Tapas, chose 6 items off the Tapas menu; hummus,calamari, halloumi, butterfly prawns, meatballs, and patatas bravas; our friends chose spicy lamb, with rice & chips and as his wife not over hungry, a starter dish of fish cake with tomato covered bruschetta. As none of us are overkeen on spicy food, we requested that the chef held back on the chilli and other spicy ingredients, which we were assured would be done. Our friends spicy lamb turned out tob e even spicier than he expected, his wife got her fish cakes without the accompanying bruschetta and our Tapas was amongst the worst we've ever encountered. All food smothered in chilli, the Patatas Bravas drowned in spicy tomato sauce and after a few tastes of each item, my mouth felt like it was on fire. Trying to get the attention of the waiting staff was just horrendous. People rushing everywhere, ignoring my hand up trying to attract their attention, and it must have been at least 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. They promised to bring the missing bruschetta without delay; that took another 10 minutes and then our friend was unhappy that the bread tasted stale. There seemed to be no maitre d' or any sort of organisation in the place, which was so noisy that somnetimes it was difficult to enjoy a conversation round our table. Eventually a male waiter, who seemed to have some degree of authority came over to us and after we highlighted our concerns , offered to reduce our bill, provide us with courtesy desserts, etc. We were really not happy with either our treatment, the poor quality of the food, and just decided to leave. The bill despite a discount being given totalled ÂŁ64. We left no tip and won't be returning. In view of the history of good reviews of this Restaurant, perhaps we caught them on a bad night. but regretably this didn't compensate for a poor birthday night out

I was extremely disappointed to read of your recent experience with us. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise as this is not prevalent of our usual high standards of both food quality and service. The night of your visit was an extremely busy evening for us following the easing of government restrictions as is highlighted from your attached pictures. I am glad that your initial drinks service and food order was prompt, however am sorry that you were unable to attract the attention of the wait staff to raise your concerns. I understand that the Assistant Manager did try to compensate for the issues with your food by offering complimentary desserts and round of drinks as well as removing items from your bill, but am sorry that this was not resolved to your liking. I am certain that if you return again to dine you will find our usual high standards of both food and service are resumed.

It is the first time I have been to La Turka and we had a lovely evening. I was pleasantly surprised to find they were continuing to eat out discount for a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was great, our server Alex was extremely attentive and had excellent attention to detail and service and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

12 of us came here the Saturday in between Christmas and New year . We had pre ordered our food from the selected menu. There was a good choice. I did send an email requesting something specific altering and I also rang and spoke to someone and was told this was fine however on the night they said they didn’t know about this but they did rectify it quickly. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions of the mains were so big I couldnt even attempt my dessert! I had the lamb combo and it had 2 lamb chops, 2 lamb steaks, sweet potato mash which was Devine and some lovely seasonal veg. The turkey dinners were also amazing with the biggest slices of turkey I’ve ever seen ! All 12 of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and not one complaint. It was served quite quickly each course and I would have preferred a bit of a rest especially before the dessert! The cocktails were nice but not at all strong , in fact I bought 3 and on,y the last one could I actually taste any alcohol. We decided to switch to bottles of rose wine instead. The entertainment was very good. A very attractive, talented young lady doing the belly dancing! She was fascinating! And then a fantastic singer whom we all thought was just background music playing at first not a real person. All in all a lovely place with great food and even better entertainment.

Went for breakfast here and although the table staff were friendly and quick there seemed to be some confusion when orders reached the kitchen. This was the last day of the eat out to help out deal and the place was very busy but our order was not as promised and other tables seemed to be having similar problems. I ordered the Turkish breakfast but it came without the hallow I and Turkish sausage. Basically I got feta cheese and a poached egg on toast which even with the price reduction was not good. Hopefully they will pick their game up once the deal is finished.

My partner and I visited La Turka last night for his birthday meal - we had never been to Monton before and the restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, but sadly we wished we’d have gone else where.
When we entered, the guy at the door pointed to a table for us to go and sit at (initial red flag as ideally he should’ve walked us over with menus, but not a huge deal) it then took a good 5 minutes for someone to bring menus over. We arrived at 6pm so the restaurant wasn’t busy at this point.
We both ordered cocktails, which I hate to say were possibly the worst cocktails we’ve ever had. I had a mojito and my partner had a Singapore Sling.
My mojito had about 3 cubes of ice in it - this should ideally have been packed with crushed ice. The drink was actually quite warm (room temp) and was sooo sweet it tasted like sugar water. I couldn’t drink it, which is a shame because we would’ve ordered a few cocktails!
Our untouched cocktails sat on the table for a good 40 mins with no check backs made, so my partner flagged over a waiter and asked for them to take his cocktail away and he ordered a beer instead. The waitress didn’t ask if my cocktail was ok, nor did she offer another drink so I just stuck to water.
The staff did remove the cocktails from our bill in the end, but I think it may be useful to get some easy to follow bar specs or training manuals made, just to make sure that each drink going out is of a good standard.
Food wise - we ordered a sharing platter to start, which was ok to pick at, but nothing special. It was bland, dry and looked like no love had gone into it.
For mains I had the Adana Kofte, which was nice. However, my partner had the garlic and chilli King Prawns which were served with SPROUTS?!? We were confused, a Turkish menu with seasonal veg consisting of broccoli, carrots and sprouts? It just doesn’t go. Maybe with the prawn dish roasted peppers/onion etc might be better? I’m not sure if this was left over veg from Christmas or if this is the norm, but it seems the menus identity is a tad lost and could perhaps benefit from being reduced slightly.
Service overall wasn’t the best though the main waitress we had was lovely. We found that we were waiting a long time with empty plates on both courses before the plates were cleared, yet the majority of the staff were stood around the front door area leaning and chatting to one another. No check backs were made whilst we were eating, this is a small detail that goes a long way as well as asking if we wanted any more drinks etc.
We didn’t fancy sticking around for dessert or more drinks so we got the bill and went to find a bar further down the road. I really am disappointed by this visit as it was a special occasion and our first visit to Monton, but I do feel like these issues can be easily resolved with a bit of staff training and honing in on the steps of service.

we are sorry to see such a bad review given and can only apologise that your recent visit was not up to our usual standard.
I must state that these issues were not brought to our attention on the evening on which we would of loved the opputnuity to rectify then and there. The only issue mentioned by yourselves on this visit were the drinks which were promptly removed from your bill.
We do sell many of the starters you have stated everyday and never usually receive any negative feedback, its usually an extremely popular dish.
We really do wish that at the time we would of been made aware of the problems as would of loved the opputunity to make everything right for you and your partner on a birthday celebration.

Food was freshly cooked and tasty. However we had to ask for wine glasses as the waiter didn’t bring any. We then had to ask for cutlery as the waitress didn’t bring any. 2 points lost for such a basic lack of training.
Asked for the bill and when the next waiter came (3rd one by now so no continuity) I asked if he could put a tip on the card machine to make it up to a price. He said “it doesn’t allow us to take tips on the machine”. Now I know that this is not the case as credit card machines in restaurants have been capable of doing this for years. In fact the previous time I had been there (2 years earlier because of Covid) I was able to add a tip.
I don’t carry cash now so sorry waiting/cooking staff you did not get a tip. 1 point lost.
Then I asked the same waiter to order us a taxi to which he replied “they do not allow us to book taxis by phone” and then went off on some long story about something that happened a month earlier. When I awoke one of our party had managed to contact a local taxi service so it was no big deal. 1 more point lost.
If you are from out of the area and unsure where you are or which taxi company to phone then you might have issues.
The good things about dining alfresco in Monton is seeing all the passing spectacles, loud super cars and the odd village idiot or two. Very entertaining on a Friday/Saturday night and the restaurant does have tables to view such delights. 1 point added so 3 out of 5. Could do better.

I booked this for my mum’s birthday and when we arrived it was lovely, great atmosphere and placed on a table to order drinks. When we were seated for our meal our menus were forgotten, but that was the least of my concern. As soon as we had ordered the live singer was setting up. I hadn’t realised that they had a live singer, but ok, that’s great - I’m all for it. However when the singer started, talk about loud!!!!! I’m 26 so don’t get me wrong, I love some live music and happy to have some tunes playing whilst I’m eating, but when you can’t hear your waiter I think there is a problem. My waiter couldn’t hear us and I couldn’t hear her. I persevered, trying to enjoy the music, but it was that loud I genuinely could not hear my mum or boyfriend speak. It got to the point where I asked the waiter to box our food up, as it was just too loud. He said he’d turn it down and that “this it what they did on a Friday” but he did turn it down. It was bearable but hardly a decent volume for a restaurant. Following this, the singer then proceeded to turn the volume back up, I assume only to stoke his own ego, but continued to turn it up. The food was lovely, amazing in fact, but the loudness ruined it. We rushed our food to get out as it was genuinely unbearable. Other people enjoyed it, which for them, who had eaten food, great but we could not stand it. It’s a shame as I love the place, food, service great but just too loud. When your ears are ringing from leaving a restaurant, that’s telling you something.

Our starter took 45 mins to arrive, our main another 35. We saw plenty of tables of families who arrived after us receive their food first. Our drinks order was wrong, the chips were so dry, the croque monsieur was a very basic toasty dripping with grease. Such a shame as I used to love this place.

Decided to give La Turka a try given the mostly positive reviews and as they are participating in the Eat in to Help our scheme. Arrived just after 4 on a warm and sunny afternoon. Secured an outside table and presented with menu’s promptly. Drinks arrived quickly. Starters, once ordered took a while to arrive. The Calimari at almost £7 was disappointing. Nicely presented but only 3 pieces. The Padron Peppers were again nicely presented but only 8 of them for almost a fiver. Mains were good. Menu could be clearer though that the La Turka chicken fillet is in fact Thigh meat and not a fillet either as it contained a bones. Not a problem for me but some people may be disappointed. Staff all wearing masks but no hot water in the gents toilet. Toilets could also benefit from a one person at a time notice on the outside. Just to help maintain distancing. Overall we found it to be a little on the pricey side and not particularly good value for money.

We do have signs up for both sets of our bathrooms, the main restaurant facilities have a sign stating 3 in and 3 out as there are 3 facilities available.

We had an amazing evening in the restaurant and all I have to give is praises.
The service was amazing, we felt that we are being taking care of the whole time. Whenever we wanted something I just raised my eyes and someone was there. When we didn't want to get bothered - nobody bugged us with unnecessary questions.
But the star of the night was the food - elegant, full of taste, smells amazing, great presentation, decent portions, reasonably priced. I'll come back to the restaurant during the week just so I could get to taste other dishes in the menu (it was really hard to make decisions).
I highly recommend the place, and I think that you can't really visit the area without having a nice meal here. Looking forward for our next visit.
Finally, a big thank you to Manager Ibrahim and all his amazing team for a wonderful experience.

I went with my friends to celebrate my 70th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A friend and I chose the lamb shoulder sharer, served with Turkish bread and fresh veg. It was cooked perfectly, the lamb melted in my mouth. My calamari starter was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their meals too. My friends had bought a surprise cake and, as we finished our deserts the waiter carried in the lit cake and sang Happpy Birthday. I was my first visit but definitely won't be my last. Thank you.

Booked a table for 6.30pm had to wait few mins whilst they cleared our table but it was really busy so that was fine.
Ordered drinks and our main meals straight away, main meal came that quickly it arrived before our drinks! Food was amazing, didn’t look much on the plate but once you tucked in was more than enough, very tasty and filling meals. I had the homemade kebab and my partner had the char mixed grill! We were stuffed.
Ate out on the 50% off scheme so was pleased with the price overall. Would defiantly visit again. Thanks la turka!
