This is a regular spot for any special meal I am celebrating with friends and/or family. The food never disappoints and changes regularly. The wine list is extensive and a good range of price if you don't want to spend too much, my sister particularly loves their Gin selection, the local Conker Gin being our favourite. The staff are always... More

Forget the London set gastro pub type venue - this family run local is my local. Exceptional hosts, great staff and fantastic service, delicious food (and wines etc.)... I'm there whenever I'm home!

We discovered this wonderful 'tucked away' Wiltshire pub sometime ago and were delighted to find it's just as good if not better than first we remembered. The food and service are simply outstanding and a must for any gastro foody.

A lovely pub with charming and attentive staff serving superb food. Not somewhere you're likely to chance upon due to it's location but definitely worth seeking out. Hard to beat.

Me and my husband went here for Valentine's and were surprised not to see it busier, bit also happy that it wasn't! All the food was packed with flavour and didn't disappoint. Portions were large and the service attentive. Decor was just the right amount of traditional without feeling stuffy. It felt authentic and comfortable surroundings.

Six longtime friends staying for the weekend, raining, cold, yuck. Visit to Old Wardour Castle a tad spoilt by the weather. But, lunch booked at The Forester. First visit, so hoping it would be good. The reviews promised good things, and we were right to trust them, specially Mitch Tonks, whose restaurant in Dartmouth is a favourite. Anyway, the Foresters... More

Having bought a house in Wiltshire a few years ago we have made it a mission to find the best walks and the best pubs. The walk from Wardour to The Forester is great, but the highlight is the Sunday lunch when we get there. A warm and welcoming pub with a standard of food that is just amazing. Not... More

We were looking for a country pub for lunch so we just goggled pubs close by. We were driving towards Tollard royal. My wife found the Forester so I was diverted down a very narrow country road and in the middle of nowhere there was the pub. You would never find it. It is a lovely country pub and has... More

Had one of the best meals ever to be had in a pub today. In a beautiful building, so quintessentially British, The Foresters have captured the market in warmth of welcome, spot-on food and perfect service. The herring roes are superb and the fennel sorbet- wow! Tricky to find but well worth the effort!
