Located very close to the ferry over to the Xunantunich site. This restaurant specialises on local cuisine. Portions are very generous, tasty and quite hot. Lovely range of fruit drinks are available. We were in a group but despite that the service was quite slow,...but adequate. Decent restrooms. Children's play areaMore

Only a couple of hundred yards from Xnantunich river crossing this is where the locals go for food and you should too! Good, basic Belize food in an interesting setting. A great experience.

If you want to experience Belizean kitchen, you must visit Benny’s! Delicious meals, great local atmosphere, and VERY decent prices. We tried Belizean Pibil (?), Belizean empanadas, and several natural juices.

If you are staying in San Ignacio and have a car, make the drive to Benny’s Kitchen! Probably the best meal I have had in Belize. I ordered the pibil, which is a slow cooked pork, came with freshly made corn tortillas, salsa and avocado...- SO GOOD! My girls loved their selection of fresh juices. They have a fun little play area for the kids while you are waiting for your food, an Internet cafe and an attached dessert shop. We tried the tres leches and Oreo pie, neither disappointed!More

Spent some time at Xuanantunich. Then walked up the hill directly across the street from the hand cranked ferry to Bennys for lunch. Great choice! Good size place so plenty of room even if a van or two from the cruise ship tours is present....Pibil is the local dish many choose to enjoy here. I’m a vegetarian and the dish is pork so not an option for me. I usually split a meal with my husband. We ordered the chicken and veggies combo plate and was more than enough for 2! $15 BZ or $7.50 US for a LOT of food! Milkshakes looked great especially for a hot day. We just didn’t have any more room! Service was terribly slow even though they appeared to have plenty of help. Great choice before or after enjoying the Mayan site! Just follow the well marked signs up the hill!More

Delicious food with AMAZING homemade corn tortillas with our slow cooked pork and carne asada. So authentic but so delicious. Writing a review so I always remember this little place.

Always a great place to go in the evenings after a hard days’ work in the hot sun. Love that we can push tables together in the open style seating, and just order a milkshake or fries.

Local food that is absolutely amazing!!! We ate here twice & I'm still dreaming about it. Husband had the carne asado that was excellent. Great service. Fast.

Recommended this place by the people we were staying with (Better in Belize Eco Village). Very spacious, lots of tables and parking outside. We had heard about pibit so we had to try it, and my friend got chicken, rice and beans. They also have...a variety of beer, wine and other juices (the soursop milkshake is amazing!). The food was amazing, I recommend the pibit - kind of like brisket if you’re from the US, and very tasty. The chicken rice and beans were good too. (The belizean bread they brought out was very good too, we took some home!). Just down the road from Xunantunich, I would highly recommend stopping here either before or after visiting the ruins.More
