I heard a lot about this restaurant and it was touted as the best seafood in Campeche which is a tall glass to fill such this city is famous for its sea fare. The place is well located and is small but nicely appointed the service was good not great but good the food was average at best and the... More

We were a group of 12 people who went in for lunch. The service was lackluster and the food was very mediocre. We ate in a number of restaurants during our weekend in Campeche and had hoped this would be the highlight. The only dish that got a wow factor was Pulpo al ajillo that two of our friends at,... La Pigua is an exceptional restaurant. We had the most delicious fish in a sauce that although our waiter was kind enough to tell us what was in it, we know we will never be able to duplicate it. La Pigua is a must visit restaurant for foodies and those who want a truly elegant meal. The fish is fresh... More

One of city's top restaurants, the surprisingly small room is served by friendly, efficient staff. Meal begins with an amuse bouche, in our case hot soup made from shrimp. Ordered shrimp dish, very good except they leave on part of the shell which is hidden by sauce. also delicious fish fillet in green sauce.

We ate here on a Saturday night and found it odd that during the two hours or so we were there they had only six other customers, another couple and a table of four. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night given its reputation. The food was excellent, however the service was not. The stone crab was delicious... More

Went on a Sunday night and it was dead...only us and one other table. No atmosphere at all and the restaurant is a bit like being in a goldfish bowl...glass all around, but no views. Food was pretty average - nothing special. All in all very disappointed.

We're told we "had" to go to La Piqua for seafood. One of our group ordered the Calamari dinner, tough and chewy.....Was not worth the cost of the meal. I had an assorted seafood platter. 5 skewers of seafood..... Was very good. Our guests had "ok" meals.... We came away thinking we would not go back, there are many other... More

This mainly seafood restaurant was once a gem. It could be again. The food is adequate, but not great or original. Coconut shrimp with imported apples for a sauce instead of fresh tropical fruits? It sounds and tastes like something from a 1950s Betty Crocker cook book. Vegetables look and taste boring. I even suspect that some of the fish... More
