Visited this inn as there was a wedding party at the hotel in which we were staying. Service was extremely friendly and efficient and portions were very generous. Three of our party who had been seduced by the menu's claims regarding the restaurant's steaks were slightly disappointed by their meals; the rib-eye steaks, although tender, were somewhat flavourless, which detracted... had their vegetarian mushroom stroganoff, which was delicious. huge portion, so i shouldn't have ordered the homemade chips, as this meant i had no room left for pudding! ( but the chips were great!) ... very friendly, attentive staff, cosy lounge and lovely log fire ... will definitely re-visit when next in area.

Called in for some lunch. Lunch menu is jackets, pasta or baguettes (or order off full menu for a more formal meal).I expected plastic meat from preformed joints but was really pleased to see proper fresh carved beef.. loads of it too! Twice cooked home made chips and a jug of beefy gravy made these baguettes an excellent choice! I... More

What attracted us to this place was the Thursday steak night deal. We live local and with so many places having good reviews in the area its hard to choose where to eat. It has been taken over since last time we were there and although it hasn't the old pub look it used to have, it still looks nice... More

Took my parents out for their anniversary lunch, and needed somewhere quiet and comfortable yet friendly so they could hear our conversation. This place was perfect! We had hot beef baguettes with chips and salad, followed by belgian waffles and ice cream, and tea for 4, as well as soft drinks for everyone, for which the bill came to a... More

We arrived at the Causey for a family meal and ordered two chicken sizzler, one burger and a medium rare steak. Chicken and burger beautiful. Sadly the medium rare steak was cooked beyond recognition. We sent it back and on return it was again over cooked. It had been 25 minutes waiting for a medium rare steak on the second... More

Rest of food was also amazing too. Atmosphere was fantastic and the place looked excellent and has a real medievil feel. Summary: one of the best steak... More
